 Wings soar
http://www.detnews.com/2005/wings/0510/06/A01-339600.htm
I watched the game last night, they didn't look great, but they looked like typical October Red Wings. Penalty kill was very good, power play wasn't, we got a couple of lucky goals, but its all good. 1 down, 81 to go
Go Wings!!!!

Wings are having a great start to the 2005-06 season (2-0 record) !! Any chance the Wings don't make the playoffs? I love this time of year. Detroit fans can finally see winning franchises for once (referring to the Red Wings and Pistons)

I think that they are looking really good! And it is great to FINALLY see them back in action!
I do miss McCarty though; he reminded me of Probert in a way: It was weird to see Mcarty, Hasek and Rubitie in different jersey's: Not so much Dom (anyone see that game agaist Toronto the other night when Belfur got the puck stuck in his mask and Dom shut them down in the shoot out) or Luc as it was for Darren: And I see Hull retired:
Till again........

As of today (October 23) the Wings are 8-1. Maybe the year off helped them out alittle. Damn glad to see them back on the ice.
How long do you think it will be before the Stevie Y farwell tour starts?
Go Wings, you and the Pistons have saved this Detroit fan for many a year.

I haven't posted on the NHL forum before, but I am an avid Red Wings fan. Hockey has always been my second favorite sport behind football and always will be. I knew that the Wings would have a good team this season, but I could never imagine that they would be this good. 12-1. They have a nice blend of youth and veterans on the roster and they seem to have adapted to the new rules. Since Shanahan helped develop those rules, they may have an advantage there, but it's their overall talent that has shined IMO. Personally, I think that Jason Williams has been the biggest surprise this year.
