Gordie Howe, Alex Delvecchio and Ted Lindsay will be among the Red Wings on hand Tuesday night for Steve Yzerman's jersey retirement ceremony.
The Wings announced more details Thursday. They encourage fans to be in their seats by 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5. FSN and CBC (Ch. 9 in Windsor) will cover the ceremony, with FSN starting at 6:30 and CBC at 7.

Yzerman's No. 19 will be the sixth jersey to hang from the rafters of Joe Louis Arena. The rest of the group:
• Gordie Howe (No. 9)
• Alex Delvecchio (No. 10)
• Ted Lindsay (No. 7)
• Sid Abel (No. 12)
• Terry Sawchuck (No. 1)
Members of Detroit's 1997, 1998 and 2002 Stanley Cup champions -- including Brett Hull, Igor Larionov, Mike Vernon, Larry Murphy, Joe Kocur and Doug Brown, and coaches Scotty Bowman, Dave Lewis and Barry Smith -- also are scheduled to attend.

That was an excellent cermony. The applause for Stevie before he went to the podium took at least 3 minutes, and he gave credit to everyone but himself in his speech.

I added the SportsPack so I could watch the ceremony. It was indeed excellent although it ran almost 2 hrs. It was typical Stevie fashion for him downplay his leadership. IMO he is one of the best of all time. Thank you Stevie for everything! Thanks to you, Detroit is Hockeytown!!!!
