Watching the UCF vs. Penn State game. Brett Perriman's son, Breshad Perriman, is having himself a nice game. He just caught a desperation 4th down pass, over 2 defenders, to set up, what should have been the winning TD for UCF.

edited to add: He is a Junior this year.

Barry Sanders Jr. GP 3 ATT 18 Gain 142 Loss 0 Net 142 Ave 7.9 TD 0 Long 44 Ave/G 47.3

Looking pretty pedestrian. This is his Junior season. But, at 6 touches per game, it would be hard to get into any kind of groove.

Don't forget, Barry was a back up behind Thurman Thomas untill his SR year. he didnt really "explode" untill then.

Actually in his "SR year" he was already playing for the Lions as he left after his JR year. And while he was backup to Thurman Thomas (what a backfield and furthermore he was even a backup on his HS team until 5 games left in his SR season), he was pretty "explosive" even as a SOPH when he lead the nation in both kickoff and punt returns. His team lost 2 games that year, to #1 Nebraska and #2 Oklahoma, both blowouts, and the same two teams he lost to his JR year but the games were closer). He did, however, set a ton of rushing records as a JR and win the Heisman.

Being in college that was a magical time for me, my Spartans would win the Rose Bowl and the Packers would later take Tony Manadrich, who lived in my dorm and was a monster, #2 overall before Wayne Fontes snapped up Barry at pick #3.
