I have steadfastly defended Brady Hoke. Until now. This game just shows how far Michigan has to go to become a legitimate division 1 team. Notre Dame probably just began Hoke's end at Michigan. The Wolverines spent half this week bragging about kicking App State's butts. Guess they should have worked on Notre Dame.

I'm glad you've finally seen the light.

But it's not really Hoke's fault -- he needs to go, but his boss David Brandon needs to go with him.

Question is, do we promote Nusmier whose offense just failed to score a single point? Or do we pursue Jim Harbaug who has snubbed us once already?

Fire Brandon ASAP.

Hire a qualified AD and let him pick the staff. Hopefully things turn south in San Fran.

Ultimately, this may have been the worst Saturday in Big 10 history. The conference's reputation is shattered, and will take years to be rebuilt, assuming it can be rebuilt at all.

If you go on any neutral NCAA forums, you'll see that Michigan isn't even taken seriously anymore. The program's national relevance is shot -- if there weren't so many Michigan grads working for ESPN, we'd have no relevance whatsoever.

Yup. And being as this is the first year of the 'playoff' where the teams are picked by commitee, the Big 10 may be shutout of the entire process..

Prediction: Harbaugh leaves the Ravens because of the Ray Rice situation, leaves to coach Michigan next year.

Well the Ravens and Michigan have always had a close relationship.

That's not really the Harbaugh I want, but I'd take him.

He's the Harbaugh with a Super Bowl; has the other one won anything yet?

why would he leave bc of the ray rice situation? it really had nothing to do with harbaugh

anyway, i agree that was a damning performance for the hoke era. no adjustments, no run game whatsoever, cant protect the QB, cant get pressure. not even glimmers of hope in that game. still if they gut out 8 wins and win the 9th in a bowl i see him coming back and finally having his Qb Morris (who I dont think is any good anyway) taking the snaps.

Sure, leave a SB champion for a college team that used to be good a long, long time ago. Sound logic there.

The worst part is that there were a bunch of players that both Notre Dame and Michigan are recruiting that was at that, " Game?". How many of them that watched Notre Dame Castrate Michigan do you think will commit to a team with no balls?

they seem to not have an issue with recruiting. UM is getting players it wants, they arent developing the talent much. Granted, Hoke hasnt even had his first recruited QB get into action yet but the OL is mostly highly recruited guys but they just arent good enough yet. I get that they are HS kids but I would expect to see a little bit more. Part of it is the transition from RR to Hoke where the prototypical ideals at each position are quite a bit different and there just arent a lot of talented upperclassmen on the team but UM needs to show more for Hoke to get to coach through the junior/senior years of his 2nd and 3rd recruiting classes. (his 1st recruiting class was a very narrow window). They seem to be recruiting too many players at the same position that are near clones of each other - greatest examle would be Derrick Green and Deveon Smith. They are both just big heavy power backs that arent particularly elusive. Makes it harder to be flexible w schemes/playcalls/adjusting to certain game situations, etc.

Don't even try to trot out the "his guys" or "youth" as an excuse.

This is year four. This isn't year one or two or three -- it's year four. The typical college player only plays, at most, four or five years.

ND is not some world-beating team (no offense, TDJ). They were missing like half a dozen starters, and played nearly 20 freshman. They shut Michigan out for the first time in 30 years.

There are no more excuses -- at this point, Hoke appears worse than Rich Rod. At least RRod's teams got a little bit better every year, and even his disastrous 2008 team didn't suffer a shut out.

Hoke never should've been hired in the first place -- he clearly didn't have the resume for the job. His only good year (2011) was with Rich Rod's players, and his teams have gotten worse each year. He may recruit well, but recruiting rankings can be deceiving, and obviously don't mean anything if you can't develop the talent you get.

On top of that, Hoke comes out and says he's happy with the team and that "true fans" will keep believing -- if you're a true fan, Hoke, you should resign immediately before you further destroy the program.

im not, im saying he s landing good solid recruits and doesnt seem to get much out of them. its not good enough to have to wait until guys are 5th year seniors to get them to produce. they seem to have a problem nurturing and developing the talent.

all that said, he s done a much better job than rich rod. both football wise and program wise.
