The combine is underway, so here's my early wish list for the Lions draft picks..

1. Derrius Guice. RB LSU
2. Taven Bryan DT Florida
3. Will Hernandez OG UTEP
4. Lorenzo Carter OLB Georgia
5. Jalyn Holmes DE Ohio State

I'll be surprised if they spend a 1st on a RB. Draft is deep at RB. Think they'll wait. Believe they'll hope to build the defensive front seven. I wouldn't be surprised to see Taven Bryan climb the board. He's the type of multi-purpose position player we could be looking for. Like him alot.

1 Taven Bryan - DT/DE
2 Tim Settle - NT
3 Rashaad Penny - RB
4 Josh Sweat - OLB/DE
5 Olasunkanmi Adeniyi - DE/OLB

I'm really excited to see how BQ and MP build our D.

BPA unless it’s a QB or WR. Plain and simple for me. Talent trumps.

In what world does Will Hernandez slip to the Lions pick in the third-round?

The same world Taven Bryan falls to the Lions 2nd and Lorenzo Carter falls all the way to the 4th. Hell even Jaylen Holmes in the 5th is very optimistic.

If Quinn got all that talent in the 2nd-5th, what the hell did the other teams draft?

One of the best things for us in this years draft is the possible drafting of 4 to 5 QB's prior to our first pick. If that happens, perhaps some of the premium talent falls to 20. The possible addition of one of this drafts talented defenders may not have been possible without the glut of perceived 1st round QB's.

So, just for reference, http://www.draftinsiders.com/DraftInsid ... prospects/

Looking at this board, I'd be happy with a number of players that are rated in the vicinity of our pick in the 1st.

10 * Derwin James S Florida St
11 * Tremaine Edmunds LB Virginia Tech
12 Baker Mayfield QB Oklahoma
13 Vita Vea DT Washington
14 * Connor Williams OT Texas
15 Marcus Davenport DE UTSA
16 Mike McGlinchey OT Notre Dame
17 * Calvin Ridley WR Alabama
18 * Leighton Vander Esch LB Boise St
19 * Da’Ron Payne DT Alabama
20 Christian Kirk WR Texas A&M
21 Rashaan Evans LB Alabama
22 * Taven Bryan DT Florida

What I found surprising, was the omission of Harold Landry as 1st round talent.

It was a good world back in Feb... I will revisit soon.. lol

The internet has upgraded a lot of guys draft projections since I wrote this. I think the press catches up with the scouts more that guys go from rd 3 prospects to rd 1. But guys do move. As an example. Today draftscout has 36 guys with a rd 1 projection. Some will slide as always..
