I agree Ware could be the third or fourth DE taken, even the second I suppose. Top 15 would be pushing it, but top 20 would not surprise me.

I guess this is my first year really paying attention. Even of everyone is getting "caught up" in the hype how could a guy like MIKE WILLIAMS for example be so far off our radar? It has seemed liike Mike and Braylon since day one... The only reason I could see mike dropping as far as he is on Gooses is that he might have some rust, or character issues. Keep us posted on the Goose though... I cant get on the Website with out a "subscription"

Ware will be taken as an OLB in a 3-4 defense, and not as a DE in a 4-3. He doesn't possess enough size to play DE.

He would be more attractive for a 3-4 team, but it all depends. I do not know, but somehow I think he might fit better at DE in the 4-3 than Merriman despite his size.

Actually, Goose soesn't think he'll be an effective WR in the NFL and views him as more of an H-Back than anything, thus the slide...

Probably, I had this mock via hard copy and just typed it in. More than likely it was my bad.

I could just die if we pulled that off Yorick. DJ and Heath Miller would make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
It's funny how much people here don't know about Gosselein. It may be a preliminary mock... but when all is said and done... he's the best in the business.

BTW, I got an account name there, if you wanted to read things...
There was a Lions comment:
Quote: Lions GM Matt Millen likes the Longhorns as much as Mack Brown does. Johnson can join Shaun Rogers, Cory Redding and Roy Williams in the starting lineup

About his Mock Draft...
3) Braylon Edwards - I've actually heard WR for the Browns, even over a QB... this should be that shocking at all
4) Carnell Williams - I spoke to Bryan Dietzler of Pro Football Draft (a solid Bears writer), and his source close to the organization says the Bears are in love with Williams. Goose has the same.
5) Alex Smith - Don't be shocked. Gruden hasn't ruled out the possibility of drafting a QB. I've heard Mike Williams, but if Smith falls, it's a possibility.
17) Thomas Davis - It would be a perfect fit in Cincinnati... but will he be avaliable? New Orleans could take him.
23) Luis Castillo - Here's a guy who a lot of teams like. He's vastly underrated, with great athleticism for a man his size (305 pounds, 4.79 40) . Top DT at combine.

Hey, look what I found in an old 2004 threat on a Buccaneers board:
Rick Gosselin - Mock Draft #2
Again from the Dallas Morning News....
1. San Diego Chargers - Eli Manning
2. Oakland Raiders - Robert Gallery
3. Arizona Cardinals - Larry Fitzgerald
4. New York Giants - Philip Rivers
5. Washington Redskins - Kellen Winslow
6. Detroit Lions - Roy Williams
7. Cleveland Browns - Sean Taylor
8. Atlanta Falcons - DeAngelo Hall
9. Jacksonville Jaguars - Mike Williams
10. Houston Texans - Will Smith
11. Pittsburgh Steelers - Ben Roethlisberger
12. New York Jets - Dunta Robinson
13. Buffalo Bills - Lee Evans
14. Chicago Bears - Tommie Harris
15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Kenechi Udeze
16. San Francisco 49ers - Reggie Williams
17. Denver Broncos (via Cincinnati) - Ben Troupe
18. New Orleans Saints - DJ Williams
19. Minnesota Vikings - Vince Wilfork
20. Miami Dolphins - Michael Clayton
21. New England Patriots (via Baltimore) - Kevin Jones
22. Dallas Cowboys - Steven Jackson
23. Seattle Seahawks - Shawn Andrews
24. Cincinnati Bengals (via Denver) - Chris Gamble
25. Green Bay Packers - Marcus Tubbs
26. St. Louis Rams - Jason Babin
27. Tennessee Titans - Antwan Odom
28. Philadelphia Eagles - Vernon Carey
29. Indianapolis Colts - Jonathan Vilma
30. Kansas City Chiefs - Darnell Dockett
31. Carolina Panthers - Rashaun Woods
32. New England Patriots - Justin Smiley
Pretty accurate, huh? It falls apart after the middle of the first round, but all mock drafts do.

That is pretty good. I wonder if that was his final final mock. I thought he did a bit better later on. His top 10 was stellar.

Interesting he had New England picking KJ as the first RB.

However, since we're talking about the accuracy of Gosselin's first mock draft of the year, it might be more fitting to consider an older Gosselin draft which he released in mid-April last year.
1. San Diego/ Eli Manning/ QB/ Mississippi
2. Oakland/ Roy Williams/ WR/ Texas
3. Arizona/ Larry Fitzgerald/ WR/ Pitt
4. NY Giants/ Robert Gallery/ OT/ Iowa
5. Wash./ Kellen Winslow/ TE/ Miami-F
6. Detroit/ Sean Taylor/ S/ Miami-F
7. Cleveland /DeAngelo Hall /CB/ Virginia Tech
8. Atlanta/ Tommie Harris/DT/ Oklahoma
9. Jacksonville/ Kenechi Udeze/ DE/ Southern Cal
10. Houston/ Will Smith/ DE/ Ohio State
11. Pittsburgh /Philip Rivers/ QB/ N.C State
12. NYj/ Dunta Robinson/ CB S./ Carolina
13. Buffalo /Michael Clayton/ WR/ LSU
14. Chicago/ Vince Wilfork /DT/ Miami-F
15. Tampa Bay /Lee Evans /WR/ Wisconsin
16. San Fran./ Mike Williams/ WR/ USC
17. Denver/ Kevin Jones/HB/ Virginia Tech
18. New Orleans/ D.J. Williams/ LB/ Miami-F
19. Minnesota/ Marcus Tubbs/ DT /Texas
20. Miami/Shawn Andrews/ OT/ Arkansas
21. New England/ Steven Jackson /HB/ Oregon State
22. Cowboys/ Chris Perry/ HB/ Michigan
23. Seattle/ Ricardo Colclough/ CB/ Tusculum
24. Cincinnati/Jonathan Vilma/ LB/ Miami-F
25. Green Bay/ Ben Troupe/ TE/ Florida
26. St. Louis/ Ben Roethlisberger/ QB/ Miami-O
27. Tennessee/ Jason Babin/ DE/Western Michigan
28. Philadelphia/ Chris Gamble/ CB/ Ohio State
29. Indy/ Teddy Lehman/ LB/ Oklahoma
30. Kansas City/ Reggie Williams/ WR/ Washington
31. Carolina/ Justin Smiley/ G /Alabama
32. New England/ Sean Jones/ S /Georgia
This mock is considerably less impressive than his later one. I mean, the man has Roethlisberger slipping to St. Louis at #27, which doesn't make a lick of sense, as you've got to believe that either Buffalo or Green Bay would've jumped at him. However, you do need to give him credit for forseeing the idiocy of Chris Perry being selected in the 1st round.
Similarly, maybe Goose's final mock draft will remove some of the ridiculousness of his first: such as Mark Clayton going at #7 when there are arguably two receivers rated higher left on the board. I can see him being right about some things here, though, such as Tampa Bay taking a QB. I guess the moral of the story is that Goose is REALLY accurate, but not necessarily on his first shot. new_microwave.gif
