 Options and opinion
Now that the combine is over and the mock draft charts and player value boards have fluctuated, I thought I would post my perspective on what I hope will be our options and possibly gather some of yours. I list here the the pick and several players that I like, that could be there, as possibilities when we pick.
1- LB Curry / QB Stafford / OT Smith
1B- LB Maualuga / DT Ziggy Hood / QB Sanchez
2- C Alex Mack / OT William Beatty / DE Jarron Gilbert
3- C Eric Wood / S Darcel McBath / CB Coy Francies
3B- G Andy Levitre / DT Dorell Scott / WR Derrick Williams / DE Lawrence Sidbury
5- LB Jasper Brinkley / WR Mike Wallace / G T.J. Lang
6- TE Bear Pascoe / RB Kory Sheets / WR Brandon Tate
6B- RB Devin Moore / CB Bradley Fletcher / G Ray Feinga

Honestly I doubt we pick a LT #1. The only way we pick Curry is if we switch him to MLB.

I agree, it's down to Curry and Stafford. But what about the other picks?

I think it is actually down to three players....Stafford, Curry and Jason Smith. I believe the Lions will speak with all three, and make contract proposals to all three. I think the player that will be willing to sign a fair proposal is the one who becomes the pick. I think that leaves Stafford out of the picture, since most agents try to get a premium for any QB taken within the first two or three rounds. Eventually, I believe it will be Curry who gets the nod. I like Jason Smith, but he is still developing and there's a bigger hole at LB than on the offensive line.

Curry! As long as we get Curry #1, im up for many options with the rest of the draft. Just PLEASE dont waste the #1 pick on a QB, please!?

I know we have tons of needs but I'd still like to see a CB earlier in the draft, at least in the third if a good one falls. That way we have a young replacement for Henry for 2010 since his contract only has one year left and he is in his 30's.
