But the real question is, If Suh is off the board, is the 2nd best DT worth the 3rd pick. i thought he was more skill evaluated at 5-10, and taking him at 3 would be considered a reach. It would suck to be stuck at #3 (however much more likely to trade down from than #1) and have to take the 2nd best DT valued at 5-10 just because no other position of need lines up with the 3rd pick.

From what we can tell, No OT will be worth it, No DE (IMO) yet has approached it, No Elite CB,... I think I would take Eric Berry at #3 and convert to CB as some wexperts ghave said he is better suited, rather than take the 2nd best DT.

Mays isnt even in the discussion at this point if you ask me. Mays = Roy Williams as a Safety, and At this point would almost be better suited to a position change and being a hard hitting fast Coverage Linebacker, vs a Slow Hard hitting Safety (Yes I know hes not slow, but his coverage is weaksauce for a supposed top 10 pick).

Ala Thomas Davis. He's been good for Carolina...worthy of a mid-first rounder where he was taken. Definitely NOT a top 5 though.

I would argue that McCoy is a better value at #3 than Berry. I've watched the Volunteers play three or four games, and I've not been that impressed with Berry. I do feel he's playing out of position at safety (doesn't seem physical enough), but it would still be a gamble to take him. I would prefer the Lions to trade down about four or five spots if they have their hearts set on taking Eric Berry. If he can't make it as a CB, he can always play FS and let Delmas play SS.

I think, in this coming draft, it will be crucial as to who is going to be picking one spot behind the Lions. If St. Louis takes Suh, and say the Browns go with Dunlap or McCoy, then hopefully a team needing a QB is sitting right behind us, like Washington. Another team may be willing to make the move up to get in front of them to get Bradford. Carolina may be looking at a QB, or Denver (I don't think McDaniels is sold on Orton) or even Jacksonville.

Oh I Agree. Even if Suh was available Id say trade down, but wouldnt be sad if we took Suh, even at the high contract price.

We have so many holes, trading down would help more than almost anything, and if we end up 3rd or 4th, that might actually be an option, especially if the 1st 2 forego QB picks.

I can't see Suh falling out of the top five, but stranger things have happened. Not many felt, at this time last year, that B.J. Raji would fall out of the top five. Who among us thought Laurinaitis or Maualuga would be second round picks at this time last year?

I was very confident that Laurinaitis would be there at #33.

But, I bet that absolutely No-one expected Michael Oher to fall out of the 1st round.

1 Cleveland 1-11 .531
2 St. Louis 1-11 .547
3 Tampa Bay 1-11 .563
4 Detroit 2-10 .531
5 Washington 3-9 .505

7 Buffalo 4-8 .495
8 Oakland 4-8 .516

11 San Francisco 5-7 .500
12 Houston 5-7 .542

23 Green Bay 8-4 .438
24 Arizona 8-4 .458
25 Philadelphia 8-4 .490
26 Dallas 8-4 .505
27 Seattle (from Denver) 8-4 .516
28 Cincinnati 9-3 .448
29 San Diego 9-3 .464
30 Minnesota 10-2 .432
31 New Orleans 12-0 .396
32 Indianapolis 12-0 .469

I think it's interesting to note the Strength of Schedule. At this point, if the Lions end up with the same record as either the Rams or Bucs, they would pick before them. If the Lions end up with the same record as the Browns, it would come down to a coin flip.
