Anyone with the time want to go back and get an accurate count? 3.5 sacks seems low to me his guy is constantly around the QB... Hey.... I'm still alive. James Harrison had 3 sacks against the Lions. Can't recall if all were against Backus.... but he does usually come from that side. Jared Allen got a sack against Backus. It seems like Ogunleye might have beat Backus also in the Bears game if I remember right. I know he usually doesn't line up at RDE.... but it sure does seem like Backus had been blown by at least once in that game.. If not.... it is still painfully apparent that he is a swinging door against ANY kind of decent pass rusher. ALSO.......... he gets MUCH easier to cut this offseason in terms of salary.... and he certainly doesn't EARN the cap space he is taking up. That would make him a "useless waste of space" in my book. I like our U of M guys.... but I always thought he was overrated in the NFL.
Welcome back man...
The Allen sack was on Felton from what everyone reported, but you did forget the sacks by Haynesworth and Orakpo in the WAS game...
I agree though... I would LOVE for this to be the last season he is manning the LT position for this team...

Getting back on topic here, Suh has been steadily rising up the draft boards because of his performance this year. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending upon how you look at it), I don't think the Lions will be drafting high enough to get him now. He's almost certain to go in the top 5 (to Tampa Bay is my guess) and I predict the Lions will end up between 7th and 10th.
I would agree. Unless the Lions really perform horribly the rest of the season I think Suh is out of reach.

Anybody watching Texas Tech and Nebraska? It is still the 1st quarter and Mr. Suh is being an absolute monster!
Nebraska is losing but Suh is having one hell of a game.
They said Todd McShay has Suh as the #4 overall pick.
You guys think we have a shot?

Just a guess, but you may want to re-phrase that.

Hahaha my bad...
I meant..
I want the Lions to get him really bad!
Today was the first time I actually got to watch him live, and I was very impressed. You can tell he plays every play at 100%.
Do you guys think if we drafted him he would right away be our best DT?

I saw Suh block a FG last Saturday and it reminded me of Shaun Rogers. I know that Terrence Cody blocked two of them as well. It sure would be nice to have someone capable of doing that again.

I think that's exactly right. It's not a coincidence that our defense's decline from "mediocre" to "scarred for life bad" corresponded with the loss of Shaun Rogers.

Though this shouldnt be a surprise to anyone but..
Suh is completely dominating in the Nebraska/Texas game. Theres about 7:00 left in the 4th quarter and Suh has 11 tackles and 3.5 sacks. PLEASE..let there be a way where we can get this guy.

Suh was an absolute beast tonight in his biggest game of the year. I thought he was pretty dominant in the four previous games I watched of him this year, but he took it to an entirely different level against Texas.
We can only hope that the teams selecting ahead of the Lions need QBs, or else he's going to be gone. Because of that, I'm kinda wishing that Tampa Bay will win another game or two now.

I agree Sly. Hopefully TB wins.
Do you think Cleveland is a lock to draft Suh if they had the chance or do you think theyd go QB?

Tough to say. With rogers on IR, i think they'll get a good look at how their DL depth is.
But yeah, Suh was a beast tonight. He couldn't be stopped, even with double teams. Morgan didn't look too bad when I did hop back and forth to that game either.

The way I see it is this: Cleveland just fired their GM, so they will have a new one. Depending upon who they hire as GM, they will probably want their own head coach, especially since Mangini sucks. New GM + New HC + 2 crappy QBs = New QB 99.9% of the time.
