Where have all the RB's gone?
Is everyone just passing so much that RB's aren't developing anymore?
The NFL used to have about 6 really good RB's in the chase for the league rushing title each year.
Well, This year, we have Chris Johnson, AP, and Steven Jackson. The rest are pretty darn pedestrian. Where have the RB's gone?
_________________ Fisher or Joekel or Lane Johnson for #5 overall. I have settled on Johnson as my preference. The only thing Joekel and Fisher have over him is experience at LT. 2 years from now, Lane Johnson will be known as the best LT of this draft!

We are in an era of RBBC and passing offenses now. I'm actually impressed with all the RBs averaging a Barry-like 5 ypc or better.
Chris Johnson is a whopping 6.4. AP is 5.1 and SJ is a respectable 4.8.
I think you are leaving out Maurice Jones-Drew (5.1 ypc and a league high 12 rusing TDs) and DeAngelo Williams (5.4 ypc and 2nd in total yards). Michael Turner is also at 5.0 ypc.
Ray Rice and Frank Gore are both at 5.2 ypc. Felix Jones is impressive when he is healthy (6.9 ypc, was even higher last year).
Emmit Smith was considered a stud running back, but was he really? Ran behind an awesome OL and still only averaged 4.2 ypc. He was durable and got a lot of carries. From 94 - 2004, he only averaged better than 4.2 ypc for a season once.

I think Barry spoiled us Lions fans.

I don't know that I even care. At least we can say we had the best something at one point in time.

Yeah I feel the same. When you grow up watching the best, every other back is going to pale in comparison.
