Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
Since I did this last year, I thought I'd do it again. Right now, it looks like The Huddle Report (which goes by wins, not winning percentage) is the only site tracking this, but Great Blue North Draft Report should start soon. Here is the current order after week 5 according to The Huddle Report:
PICK TEAM W OPP% 1 49ERS 0 0.513 2 PANTHERS 0 0.579 3 BILLS 0 0.589 4 VIKINGS 1 0.532 5 LIONS 1 0.541 6 COWBOYS 1 0.570 7 BROWNS 1 0.581 8 RAMS 2 0.434 9 SEAHAWKS 2 0.462 10 DOLPHINS 2 0.500 11 CHARGERS 2 0.500 12 RAIDERS 2 0.507 13 BRONCOS 2 0.532 14 BENGALS 2 0.533 15 CARDINALS 3 0.392 16 CHIEFS 3 0.405 17 SAINTS 3 0.446 18 BUCCANEERS 3 0.449 19 PACKERS 3 0.467 20 PATRIOTS 3 0.474 21 GIANTS 3 0.487 22 JAGUARS 3 0.487 23 STEELERS 3 0.494 24 EAGLES 3 0.506 25 REDSKINS 3 0.526 26 COLTS 3 0.545 27 TITANS 3 0.553 28 TEXANS 3 0.577 29 BEARS 4 0.419 30 JETS 4 0.459 31 FALCONS 4 0.461 32 RAVENS 4 0.480

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
I really hope we're not in the top 5 again. I'm thinking we end up somewhere in the 7 to 10 range.

Keep it up Leo's! I sure hope they get out of the top 10! If Mayhew can get out of the top 10, which Millen was only able to do by trading down, it will continually show how inept he was and maybe get him fired from one of those nice cushy gigs he's got on the idiot box.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
If the Lions are at 7, why are they 6th on the waiver order?

Wayne Fontes wrote: If the Lions are at 7, why are they 6th on the waiver order? Good question, I just checked SOS which is taken into account for both and I have us at 6 as well with a weaker SOS (.538) than Min (.549), Cin (.571) and Cle (.640). Perhaps last night game impacted someone's SOS in the last 24 hours. BTW - based on what I'm seeing from an early value standpoint and assuming we are picking in the 5-10 range, it is looking like CB (Peterson/Amukamara) or DE (Quinn/Clayborn/Bowers) would make the most sense. Then again, I see DE's pretty deep with guys like (Bailey, Heyward, Jordan, etc.). I hope the Lions address LB in FA cause I'm not enamored with the crop coming out next year and it will give the Lions a lot more flexibility in the draft.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
I just want to say that I am not sold on CB Prince Amukamura.. I saw him play twice.. once against Texas and against OK State.. he didn't impress me as much as I thought he would... since he's been touted so highly.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
Oops. I forgot to post this sooner, but atleast M2K posted that they would pick 7th (or maybe 8th based on a coin flip).
1 Buffalo 0-7 .579 2 Dallas 1-6 .551 3 Carolina 1-6 .569 4 San Francisco 2-6 .513 5 Denver 2-6 .538 6 Minnesota 2-5 .509 7 Detroit 2-5 .517 8 Cincinnati 2-5 .517 9 Cleveland 2-5 .521 10 San Diego 3-5 .500 11 Arizona 3-4 .442 12 St. Louis 4-4 .454 13 New England (from Oakland) 4-4 .487 14 Washington 4-4 .517 15 Jacksonville 4-4 .543 16 Chicago 4-3 .452 17 Philadelphia 4-3 .492 18 Miami 4-3 .504 19 Houston 4-3 .521 20 Tennessee 5-3 .514 *21 Seattle 4-3 .475 *22 Green Bay 5-3 .456 *23 New Orleans 5-3 .456 *24 Kansas City 5-2 .417 *25 Pittsburgh 5-2 .562 *26 New York Jets 5-2 .465 *27 Tampa Bay 5-2 .470 *28 Baltimore 5-2 .483 *29 Atlanta 5-2 .496 *30 Indianapolis 5-2 .513 *31 New York Giants 5-2 .462 *32 New England 6-1 .465
And to answer Wayne Fontes' question, the waiver order is based upon the winning percentage of the teams played against up until that point of the season, while the draft order is determined by the opponent's winning percentage for the entire 16 game season.
