Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
Yes, but count into that fact we have lost 10 games enhancing the "Strength" of the 10 teams that beat us.
Still we had a very rough schedule. Pull up ESPN and CLick on the schedule and look at how well the teams we played are doing in general, and how close we played them. Id say with a healthy Stafford the full year wed be a 7 win team by now.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
I can see 7, but maybe only after this season. Would this team be a 9 win team with a healthy Stafford all season?

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
Fair point. I think they woulda been 7-8 wins but still missed the playoffs. Back 7 just too weak to beat the actual good teams. But wed be going into next season contending for the division and a serious shot at the playoffs.
Instead I think we are basically a season behind that plan.

Looks like we won't be getting Peterson or Amukamara. Janoris Jenkins anyone?

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
Assumptions! I find it ridiculous to assume that the Lions will automatically take a corner with their first pick. I also think it ridiculous to assume that if they do want to go CB, that the top rated corners will be gone. The draft is four months away my friends, ratings could change dramatically by then.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
I'm beginning to like our draft position much much more. These top five picks year in and year out is no way to build a team. My belief is that we are still in the reality of where we still have to draft BPA ourtside of the QB position that will help out the team the most. Be it DE, LB, CB, OL, or even a bonafide #3 WR are positions we need to get stronger at to improve as a team.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
I think based on early projections OT just became much more of a possibility and DE still a possibility at where the Lions will likely be picking. With that said, we also really need to see how FA shakes out and the bowl games and combine go.

If we can't get a LT that is better than Backus or a RT that is better than Gos, I would rather wait until next year for them. Other wise, I don't care how BPA they are, They will be a wasted pick.

Re: Tracking the Lions' 2011 Draft Order
IMO Gabe Carimi would be better than both/either of them straight out of College, and could be available at 8-12.

And I am down right nervous about taking a LT from Wisconsin after what's his face ate himself out of the league on us. Can't remember his name now. That's how unimpressive he was. Andre Gibson?

If you go by that, then he will be a stud (Joe Thomas).
You have to look at individual players, not the past.

You have to look at individual players, not the past. Exactly. It's stupid to base an opinion of a player on the past.
