I was traveling so I must have missed that... looks like that should get him what he wants right? Clearly OSU is taking the extreme measure to make sure there is no doubt he should be eligible.

Not sold on Pryor, don't think he will be that good in the NFL.

Not as a QB, but a 5-7 is a decent gamble if you got a spot to develop him.

Maybe, but is Terelle willing enough to switch positions? Everything seems to be about him so I'm not so sure if he would be willing enough to put in the hard work and learn a new postion let alone what it takes to be an NFL QB.

He wants to be a QB, I don't think he can cut it, but there will be a team willing to give him a chance. I'd personally throw a 6th his way and keep him for a few years.

Looks like he might have to wait a year unless he takes it to the courts:

Pryor ineligible for supplemental draft

So much for the Jon Gruden special. It looks like Terrelle Pryor will have to wait a year before he enters the NFL.

According to ESPN's John Clayton, the former Ohio State quarterback has been ruled ineligible for the NFL's supplemental draft because the NCAA and OSU have yet to formally rule anything on him, and that needs to happen for him to enter the supplemental draft.

Earlier in the week, league spokesman Greg Aiello explained rules of the supplemental draft to Fox Sports' Alex Marvez.

"If there are no players eligible for a supplemental draft, there is no supplemental draft," he said. "It is for players whose circumstances have changed in an unforeseen way after the regular (college) draft. It is not a mechanism for simply bypassing the regular (draft)."

Pryor had not been kicked off his team, nor had he been declared academically ineligible. He also has not graduated. Pryor decided to forgo his senior season.

He had already received a five-game suspension before deciding to leave school. There have been allegations that Pryor received improper benefits. His former head coach, Jim Tressel, resigned because of the controversy.

Pryor signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus, making him ineligible to return to the NCAA.

The Associated Press reported on July 26 that the university did dissociate themsleves with the quarterback in terms of athletics, not allowing Pryor to be in contact with any recruits or current members of the OSU team. However the quarterback was not kicked out of the school, and is still eligible to remain in Columbus to earn his degree.

Pryor's lawyer, Larry James, explained to the AP that his client was not trying to cheat the system by declaring himself for the draft in late-May.

"I don't think anybody on this planet who's paying attention to this thought Terrelle was attempting to game the system" by leaving school early for the NFL, James said.

By the rules, it seems Pryor didn't really have a clear game changer happen when he decided to take off for the draft. OSU wasn't going ti suspend him for the remaining games, they did so only to get him into the draft. I hate to say it, but I don't think he thought this one through. I really do believe he is better off going into the CFL, Arena, or UFL... but he already shot down the CFL so that kinda sucks for him too.

I have read a few other articles and they have inplied the NFL hasn't officially ruled on this matter yet and it isn't a dead issue. I assume this is probably on the back burner at the NFL offices until the free agent frenzy is over and then they might give out the ruling.

Is there going to be a Supplemental Draft or what? I haven't heard anything, but I would imagine it would come together rather quickly. Anyone know what the status is?

John Clayton tweeted earlier about the Supplemental Draft. Apparently it will be held this week. Interesting to see where TP ends up.

August 17th is the Supplemental Draft. No word on who is going to be available, but I can't imagine that TP wouldn't be. If he is set on being a QB he's going to be WAAAAAY behind the 8 ball and will most likely be buried on someone's practice squad somewhere. The timing of this makes me think he'll be nowhere near a 4th round pick.

I don't think he'd sneak through to the practice squad.

My guess is that these teams are interested for different reasons (no good QB, aging QB, questionable QB). I started the places that'd give him the best shot (time to sit and learn)

Bills
49ers
Titans
*Cowboys
Texans
Dolphins
Browns
*Colts
*Eagles
*Saints
Seahawks
*Chiefs
