With Ansah, Slay and Warford all filling huge needs who are the players you want the Lions to go after? Remember the Lions have to wait until the end of the 4th round but still have 5 picks remaining today.

Cody Davis, Safety Texas Tech. That kid blew up the Super regional and was the ONLY bright spot on the Texas Tech defense. Has great size at 6'2'' 200lbs, so he can cover TEs and is a 4.4 guy so he could even handle some slot. He flew all over the field and is a great wrap up tackler. He is also known for his durability. He was graded as a mid-late round guy and with his athleticism I think he could go in round 4.

I think I'd also be willing to give up next years 3rd to get into the early part of the 4th to get Cornelius Washington.

Maybe, Rambo has character issues. Thomas may be the better play if he's there. I think Rambo and Thomas will go before the Lions 4th, so probably not an issue.

I'm also going to put out there if a guy like Tyler Wilson or Landry Jones are their in the 5th round it could be a very wise move. Hill is a little long in the tooth and Having a nice Young back-up QB can help both on the field and in the off season as an asset in the future.

I like some of the DEs that are left but I think they will be gone when it gets to the Lions pick. Okafor and Washington. I think we have a shot at grabbing a starter at OLB with Devonte Holloman here in the late 4th. Barrett Jones bc of injury might be able to help somewhere on the OL in a year or two, and if he s there at the top of round 5 or 6 i might take him. Id also take a long look at K Dustin Hopkins as early as Round 5 (David Akers was pretty bad last year and not just outdoors, Kickalicious I dunno). The Lions will also need a WR - Marquess Wilson and Da'rick Rogers both come with issues, but have a lot of talent. I kind of wish the Lions had the infrastructure to make it work with them but they probably dont.

Goals on Day 2 for me would be 1) find a starting OLB 2) outside WR 3) K and P 4) H-back, blocking TE 5) KR/PR but this is where really BPA approach should take over instead of reaching for needs. There will be some free agents, released veterans who could help as stopgaps later on. I dont think the Lions are going to win much this season anyway, so Im hopeful they can get one guy today that will start this season, one specialist and the others are players that will fit in somewhere down the line but good enough to make the team this year.

I like the sentiment but I disagree with your player picks and Shaun Hill is only 33. Not quite long in the tooth but does cost a lot more than someone on a rookie deal. Kellen Moore shouldnt be taking up a roster spot. If the Ryan Nassib or Matt Barkley slide they might be worth it but if we are looking a little later I like Zac Dysert. Bill Polian has been talking up Jones but I think Jones would go earlier than the lions would be willing to take a QB (though i dont think they will in any circumstance bc Linehan and Moore have some sort of connection)

I won't lie, I don't pay much attention to the kids projected in the fourth on down, are there any olb left to fill the one glaring hole we have left?

Did they ever really figure out who was the problem at Washington State? Wilson made a lot of accusations towards Leach and his coaching staff about their excessive belittling and intimidating of the players. In the beginning it was in question of whether Wilson was really the immature one in the situation and I don't think he had any problems once he transferred.

Think the Lions must address the OT spot, for depth, in case of injury.

I dont think he actually transferred - he just quit this past season and decided to enter the draft didnt he? i give him some slack bc Leach has a history of being a jack-hole but im not confident the lions know how to sort through that kind of stuff.

There are still a handful of good DE available if that's where the Lions decide to go so we can wait til our pick. Next year is supposed to be a better draft so I don't want to be giving up future picks. If we hadn't done that last draft we'd have the #5 pick this round already instead of a LB who didn't do much and I'm afraid is going to have to start.
