Post Day 3
What do you hope we focus on for day 3? I'd like to see some defensive picks please. Hopefully we can land a safety or corner (or both) and a defensive lineman. Maybe a backup QB and a WR as well.

Obviously my favorite remaining player is Keith McGill but he'll be long gone before 133. Surprised to see Martavis Bryant still on the board, but he too should be gone before we select.

I'm rooting for Pierre Desir at CB or Reynolds, Dixon, Bailey or Dowling at S. Mettenberger, McCarron or Murray would be good in the 4th or David Fales in the 6th at QB. Ellington or Abbrederis at WR. Anthony Johnson at DT or Chris Smith or Cassius Marsh at DE.

I would have been OK with the Lions taking Desir in round three. He's a good ball player, and would have helped with the secondary. Not a starter, but definitely a player worth taking at that point. Ellington would have been a good pick as well. However, I really would have preferred Kareem Martin. I think that kid is going to be a very good NFL DE, and the Lions could still use another DE for the rotation, IMHO.

As for others who are left that are good:

Keith McGill and Marcus Roberson at corner
Dion Bailey or Ed Reynolds at safety
Martavis Bryant would look very good lining up opposite Calvin.

I have a feeling none of those guys will be available when we next pick.

If Martavis Bryant or Kevin Norwood fall to us, I'll be happy

I'd like to see them grab Larry Webster. Super raw but they just need another body in the DE rotation not a full time starter.

Would it make sense to try to trade up in the 4th round (assuming that the picks they have are tradeable)?

The two 4ths are comp picks, thus not table to be traded.

I know fans at this point just want the lions to take anybody on defense but the Lions really need to be looking for a kicker, backup QB and even another wide receiver.

I know nothing about this kid. 5'9 corner? He's shorter than me.

Edited: Here's what NFL.com had to say : DRAFT PROJECTION Round 7-Priority free agent

If your talking about Larry Webster, he is a DE that ran some TE drills for scouts.

We drafted a corner, who was slated as a 7 rounder or UFA in the 4th Rd with the size of Mighty Mouse and weakness is Press off the line. What happen with us wanting to be more physical and taking Taller Corners similar to the Seattle Model. This pick was a waist with Antone Exum on the board and other quality secondary. I'm convinced the front office is purposely sabotaging our secondary.

Other places than NFL.com had him projected in the 3rd-4th. He's really similar to Lardarius Webb.

I wish people would watch tape and judge for themselves instead of reading a scouting report and overreacting to it.
