i still think this team needs help at wr with so much being in question about chuck and mike, for that matter roy too. that said i would like to see the lions take jovan bouknight in the third or fourth round. a very good receiver from wyoming who holds the mountain west conference record for career recieving yards.

I believe that Marinelli will light a fire under the a** of our current WRs. I don't think that we need any more receivers at all.

:o I didn't Millen was on here! We better stop criticizing his past decisions. We wouldn't want to piss him off. He might run our team into the ground....Wait a minute... :(

With our luck at getting injuries to our WR's.. who knows me just might need a guy or 2.

I have this feeling that a large part of the reason that we've had so many damned injuries is because these players have been pampered for the last couple years. Once Coach M gets things going and gets a good work our regimine set, I think the injuries will drop off.

We don't need another young reciever. Yes we may need to bring in another reciever b/c the team will need 4 or 5 on the team but drafting another young reciever would be dumb move to make when there are other needs that a 3rd round pick could fill.

Exactly. Vines looks to be a capable WR, he looks even better as a #4 guy. We already have Roy, Crog, and BMW. I don't want to add another young WR to the mix. Kevin Johnson was a nice pickup before the injury, I'd rather see another move like that.

Add a vet to the group and save the pick, regardless of round, for more pressing areas of need.

Especially since even a late third round pick this year is about the equivalent of a mid-second rounder last year. A pick that is MUCH too valuable...since we're running without a 4th or 7th.

I've already voiced my opinion on this in another forum, If we need another reciever on the roster I want to see us sign Randel El, numbers arent to great but he plays in pitts running offence, runs great reverses and maybe we could put a few trick plays with him passing in the playbook like pitts did as he is a great passer for a reciever.

I don't know if he's a FA or not, but he would also be a great replacement for Eddie Drummond....

Of note, I've seen reports that Michael Robinson from Penn State was not looking all that great as a QB down at the Senior Bowl and some scouts are looking at him on the next level to switch to WR because of his athletic ability. I can see him as a Randel El type in the NFL as an emergency QB/WR/punt returner. With what has been said of him, he may be a great 2nd day pickup.
