Yeah, I know we don't know who will be there. That is why I asked to list 5. I have a mock starting tommorrow and I'm still unsettled about who I want.
I have the Dallas and Baltimore owners interested in a trade with Dallas being the lead candidate because their 2nd rounder is earlier than the Ravens. The trade would be similar to the Cleveland trade last year, a 1st for a 1st and 2nd.
I guess to revise my 1st post I would go Johnson, Rolle, Barron, Trade Down.
What do you mean by Out and OFF?

Brandt's bigboard:http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/8334953
Out=Do not draft.
Off: assuming they will be off the board. Of course, other players will be off the board too, but the WRs would at least merit consideration where as the RBs will not.

What don't you like about Rolle and Barron?
I was thinking Rolle could move to FS.
Also, why Pacman? It seems we have enough money invested in CB and we're 5 deep already. Unless we look at cutting Bly next year it doesn't add up for me.

After 3 it changes a lot. I actually rate Mike Williams much more highly than Merriman... it's just that I think for the Lions Merriman should have the bigger impact on the team. It's kind of hard to have an impact as a third receiver. If I'm still very concerned about Charles Rogers... Mike Williams moves past Merriman easily, I may even rate him higher than Rolle.
There are several reasons why I like Rolle better than Pacman and have never wavered from that stance once. And it actually baffles me that Pacman is the consensus no.1 corner. Why? I like Rolle better because he's the bigger more physical corner. The thought of playing him at safety increases his stock for the Lions. He has constantly shut down top competition (most notably Larry Fitzgerald)... whereas Pacman is known to disappear from games when facing top receivers. In fact the dropoff between Pacman and Carlos Rogers is minimal to none in my opinion. Rogers may have the best of both Rolle and Jones: size and coverage skills.

I don't think you can have too many corners. Philly has proved that with Litto Sheppard and Sheldon Brown. I'm sure many wondered wt-heck they were doing when they already had the best corner tandem in the league.
Plus injuries to corners and wide receivers is an annual thing for all teams. I think this is the third time I've said this in the last month: the old adage is to draft a corner and/or recevier every year. Seeing how the Lions took Roy and Keith Smith last year after already having added Charles Rogers, Tai Streets, Travis Anglin, David Kircus, Jefferson at receiver and Bly, Bryant, Cash, Goodman, Babers at corner... prior to getting Roy and Keith, I think the Lions very well adhere to this philosophy.
The question that warrants merit though is: "is it prudent to draft these two positions so high thereby allocating more of the cap percentage there?"
Finally regarding the Barron: Yorick is certainly quotable when he says:
"You can put Stockars heart in Walter Jones body, and in the end you'd still end up with a McDougle."
well something of that nature. Barron is fast on his feet. Weak in the upper body. But the biggest knock is he doesn't play with the desire. If you want to get Barron I'd target him later on. If you can work a trade where you can draft him 18+ then you could be getting better value for him.

I hope it gets better. Braylon Edwards goes with the 1st pick of the draft. I guess he has confidence in Rattay and the new and improved O-Line.

DJ
Williams - beef him up and use him as a TE
James
Rolle - versatility (CB/FS)
Spears - beef him up and put him at DT

The last time we drafted D in the 1st was Claiborn in 99
