Yeah, it's hard to believe.
I just hope the DEs keep on falling. I'd love to nab Pollack or Roth in the 2nd. I'm sure Tuck and Ware will both be there. I've actually negotiated a trade with Philly for their 2nd rounder if Pollack is still there, it'll cost me the 4th round selection though. I have a feeling PHI, TB, TEN or NO might take him ahead of me.

Please, don't draft Barron
BTW, backus is consitant and decent. I never really notice him, but i guess that is good for oliners. I am just not a fan.

Bad trade for a such a bad team. They should be stockpiling picks. Do you really think Rodgers will drop that far?

If Rodgers is there at 10 I have enough confidence in Millen that he'd fock some team over without even offering a kiss.
In this mock I don't think it's such a bad move considering where Rodgers is projected to be drafted.
It's a deep draft with 2nd and 3rd tier players so you might be right about them stock piling picks.

I think Jeff Backus is a decent enough player but he's not a franchise LT by any stretch of the imagination. He struggles with players who are more athletic than he is which is not good for a LT. He might be better suited at guard or RT. Saying Backus was the most dependable player is like saying Hakim has been the Lion's most dependable receiver the last couple years. I believe the position could be upgraded and Barron at least has the physical ability to do that.
I'm tired of hearing how many sacks this line gives up. The fact is Harrington throws the ball away too much. This line has been horrible, they just have not controlled the line of scrimmage. I don't know how many times I saw teams rush 4 linemen and still put pressure on the QB or not be able to run the ball in short yardage or to eat up the clock in the second half of games. If it's true that it all starts in the trenches than this line needs more than just signing DeMulling to improve.
All that being said I really don't see Millen drafting Barron but rather drafting a OT in the 2nd or 3rd round to put in the mix with Rogers and Butler.

Quote: He struggles with players who are more athletic than he is which is not good for a LT Who? I would like a name because I dont think I can rember anyone just killing Backus to the corner. But I could be wrong. Quote: Saying Backus was the most dependable player is like saying Hakim has been the Lion's most dependable receiver the last couple years The guy has not missed a game since he was drafted if that is not dependable what is. Quote: I'm tired of hearing how many sacks this line gives up. The fact is Harrington throws the ball away too much one of the few things the lions have done good in the past three years and your going to say Harrington is the reason. Come on that is a bunch of . The lions went 7 straight game without giving up a sack and joey was not the reason for that. Joey being the reason is like saying that all of Denvers running back are the reason they get a 1000 yards. Quote: This line has been horrible, they just have not controlled the line of scrimmage Jones rushed for 1000 yards at the end of the season (once he understood the game better) But I guess your going to say that jones did all that by himself. The Lions avg. 111 yards rushing per game. Any team would like to have that stat. Quote: this line needs more than just signing DeMulling to improve.
Demulling in my mind makes the lions a better team. The missing item is a RT. I think our weak link last year was Mcdougal. The guy played well at time but looked slugish at time too and teams seen that that is why he couldnt get the long term. We need a RT and I think your right Millen will draft one but i dont think it will be Barron, But Barron will be good if he just gets stronger IMO.

SF has 11 picks in the draft. Granted these added picks include an addiitional 5th and 6th and 2 additional 7th rounders.

Was it McDonut who gave up 3 sacks to the Freak or was it Backus? Also, Lance Johnstone got 3 sacks in the 2nd game against Minn, was that on Backus or McDougle?
I don't see why Miami fans are so thrilled about getting him...
