Watch the video for yourself:

I believe the cop that he pulled the wrong weapon. But he's paid to know the difference. Why on earth do you need to tazer a restrained man anyway? Tazer someone running around in a riot. Tazer someone kicking and biting. But a man being held down?

It seems as though cops are becoming way to tazer happy as of late. Maybe this guy should be made an example of.

Also, I'm not going to argue if GWB was better or worse than Obama. Frankly, I think they're both going down as some of the worst presidents in US history. I just think Hillary would've crushed Obama for the nomination if Bush hadn't been so bad.

As for how much Obama is rousing the country...it will be shown depending on who wins the Republican nomination. If its a RINO like Huckabee or Romney, then obviously he hasn't stired up much emotion. But if its Palin or some unknown from the tea party, then he has.

None of the men were restrained. They restrained one, and then they tried to restrain him, but he was resisting. They couldn't get him cuffed and that's why they went for the tazer. If he hadn't of been resisting in the first place it wouldn't have ever come to that. But everyone forgets cause and effect.

55 Percent of Likely Voters Find ‘Socialist’ an Accurate Label of Obama?

July 09, 2010 9:13 AM By Jim Geraghty
The latest poll by Democracy Corps, the firm of James Carville and Stan Greenberg, has Republicans leading on the generic ballot among likely voters, 48 percent to 42 percent.

Deep in the poll, they ask, “Now, I am going to read you a list of words and phrases which people use to describe political figures. For each word or phrase, please tell me whether it describes Barack Obama very well, well, not too well, or not well at all.”

On “too liberal,” 35 percent of likely voters say it describes Obama “very well,” 21 percent say “well,” 21 percent say “not too well,” and 17 percent say “not well at all.” In other words, 56 percent of likely voters consider Obama too liberal.

When asked about “a socialist,” 33 percent of likely voters say it describes Obama “very well,” 22 percent say “well,” 15 percent say “not too well,” and 25 percent say “not well at all.”

In other words, 55 percent of likely voters think “socialist” is a reasonably accurate way of describing Obama.

You know that allegations of voter intimidation, corruption, and voter fraud is pretty bad when they're being made by other Democrats:
We Will Not Be Silenced 2008 wrote:
As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. "We the people" expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected. However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee. That didn't happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for "dinners," etc. There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.

This documentary is about the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America. We want to be heard and let the country know how our party has sanctioned the actions of what we feel are Obama Campaign "Chicago Machine" dirty politics. We believe this infamous campaign of "change" from Chicago encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is, of course, all documented in "We Will Not Be Silenced."

"We Will Not Be Silenced" is about the people who fight back by simply telling their stories: Teachers, professors, civil rights activists, lawyers, janitors, physicists, ophthalmologists, accountants, mathematicians, retirees - all bound together by their love of America and Democracy. They will tell us their experiences and how they feel betrayed by their own party. They will discuss how their party has disenfranchised them and how, when they saw and reported multiple instances of fraud, everyone turned a blind eye. Rather than support and protect the voices and votes of its loyal members, the DNC chose to sweep this under the rug by looking the other way, or using ceremony and quasi-investigations to assuage angry voters. It is our opinion there never before has been such a "dirty" campaign; the campaign that has broken the hearts and spirits of American voters, who once believed in the Democractic voting system.

We are not angry liberals; we are disappointed Democrats, who love our country and feel the DNC needs to stand for truth, care about its voter base and stop committing actions worse than what we only thought possible of the worst Republicans. The DNC and the Obama Campaign need to be held accountable for the catastrophe of the 2008 Democratic Primary. We must right their wrongs...after all, this is America, the Land of the Free, where every American has the right to a fair, honest voting process, and to have his or her vote counted...

Here's more on Obama's disingenuous job creation claims:
Weekly Standard wrote:
One Job Forward, Two Jobs Back
Another triumph of Obamanomics.
BY Andrew B. Wilson

The Great Obamanomic Job Creation Machine rumbled into action again over the Fourth of July weekend, promising to spend as much as $2 billion to support creation of 1,585 “permanent” jobs by two solar energy companies. That comes to a potential cost of over $1.25 million per job.

In his weekly radio address on July 3, President Obama chided the Republicans for failing to climb aboard his job-creation bandwagon, which he claims—against strong evidence to the contrary—has created or saved 2.8 million jobs over the past year. And he isn’t finished. He vowed “to keep competing aggressively to make sure the jobs and industries of the future are taking root right here in America.” Here’s what he said:

We’re accelerating the transition to a clean energy economy and doubling our use of renewable sources like wind and solar power—steps that have the potential to create whole new industries and hundreds of thousands of new jobs in America.

In fact, today, I’m announcing that the Department of Energy is awarding nearly $2 billion in conditional commitments to two solar companies.

The first is Abengoa Solar, a company that has agreed to build one of the largest solar plants in the world right here in the United States. After years of watching companies build things and create jobs overseas, it’s good news that we’ve attracted a company to our shores to build a plant and create jobs right here in America. In the short term, construction will create 1,600 jobs in Arizona. What’s more, over 70 percent of the components and products used in construction will be manufactured in the USA, boosting jobs and communities in states up and down the supply chain. .  .  .

The second company is Abound Solar Manufacturing, which will manufacture advanced solar panels at two new plants, creating more than 2,000 construction jobs and 1,500 permanent jobs. .  .  .

These are just two of the many clean energy investments in the Recovery Act. Already, I’ve seen the payoff from these investments. I’ve seen the once-shuttered factories humming with new workers who are building solar panels and wind turbines, rolling up their sleeves to help America win the race for a clean energy economy.

It’s all  I, I, I with this president. The repeated use of the first person singular pronoun illustrates what the economist Friedrich Hayek called “fatal conceit” or “the pretense of knowledge.” If no one in the private sector is beating a path to the door of either one of these small and unheralded companies—to buy their products or invest in their technologies—what makes Obama and the Department of Energy so sure it’s wise to put $2 billion of the taxpayers’ money at risk on their behalf? And if President Obama has gone on a VIP tour of one or two solar panel or wind turbine factories, does that constitute real knowledge—or simply “the pretense of knowledge”?

And there are other aspects of this presidential pronouncement that deserve closer inspection.

First is the willingness to commit huge sums of money for the creation of comparatively few jobs in favored industries. Abound Solar is supposed to create 1,500 “permanent” jobs, while Abengoa Solar is promising just 85 “permanent” jobs, according to the Department of Energy fact sheet, at its plant in Arizona. Add another 3,600 construction jobs, which will disappear after the three plants are built, and the cost per job created still amounts to $386,000—which is more than seven times the median household income in this country.

Second is the willingness to bet taxpayers’ money on unproven companies set up for the express purpose of pursuing government grants. As it admits in one of its press releases, Abound Solar is already “fueled in part by enhanced federal support, including tax credits and loan guarantees, for renewable energy.”

Third is Obama’s decision to look to nearly bankrupt Spain for the clean energy jobs of the future. Abengoa Solar, beneficiary of fully $1.45 billion of the “conditional commitment” announced by the president, is based in Seville. Though part of a larger Spanish conglomerate with $6 billion in revenues and 23,000 employees, Abengoa Solar itself had fewer than 400 employees at the end of 2009 and annual revenues of less than $150 million. In the annual report on its website, Abengoa Solar lists the total capacity of its solar plants in operation and under construction around the globe at 493 megawatts. To put that into perspective, 493 megawatts is just 0.03 percent of the electrical generating capacity of Cleveland Public Power, which supplies one medium-sized Midwestern city. It’s more than enough to fry an egg, but not nearly enough to begin to create “transformational change.”

The Department of Energy’s commitment to the two companies comes in the form of loan guarantees rather than outright grants. The guarantees put them ahead of other private companies in the borrowing and investment queue—including companies that could be the next Apple or Microsoft. And they put public money at risk in the service of people who are out for private gain. The risk is real.

Russell Kanjorski, the vice president for marketing at Abound Solar, was one of the principals in another energy company in northeast Pennsylvania, called Cornerstone Technologies LLC, which attracted $9 million in federal grants before it halted operations in 2003 and later filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. As reported by the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader, “Cornerstone reported $14,100 in assets compared with $1.34 million in debt” in its bankruptcy filing. The $9 million in federal grants to Cornerstone were earmarked by Kanjorski’s uncle, Representative Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania, chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises.

It is also worth noting that Nobel Laureate and former vice president Al Gore, who has accumulated a substantial fortune in the course of campaigning against global warming while investing in alternative energy and lecturing on the subject, has lent his name and support to Abengoa Solar and the parent company, Abengoa. The Spanish company’s stock jumped in November 2007 when an investment fund headed by Gore announced it was acquiring a stake in the company. (Abengoa also owns a biofuels business that is aligned in various ventures with BP, “the world’s first green petroleum company,” as it used to boast.)

Is there anything wrong with spending large amounts of public money on “green” jobs that may or may not pay off in the long run? As a matter of fact, there is. As one prominent government economist who has studied alternative energy explains, “The opportunity cost of creating these jobs is important. If the government takes a million dollars to create one job, that’s a million dollars that could have gone to more efficient and productive use in the private sector—in creating stronger and better jobs for more people.”

The same point may be made about everything the government does with the purported goal of boosting the economy and creating jobs. In making the case last year for the $787 billion stimulus bill, Obama and the Democrats claimed it would stop unemployment from going above 8 percent. Instead unemployment climbed to 10 percent and has remained at or near that level ever since. Rather than admit error, the administration is now claiming that the stimulus has kept unemployment from going up to about 12 percent.

But the stimulus hasn’t worked. The principal effect of an alarming rise in government spending and deficits has been to undermine a normal cyclical recovery. Part of the blame for continued high unemployment (especially long-term unemployment) surely rests on the crazy growth of new entitlements and federal spending, combined with the likelihood of a raft of new taxes—some hidden (e.g., rising health premiums resulting from Obamacare) and some not (e.g., the value-added tax now being discussed)—to pay for more government and government-directed redistribution of income.

Give the Obama administration credit, then, for destroying or impeding the creation of at least two or three jobs for every one that it claims to have created or saved—including those at Abengoa Solar and Abound Solar Manufacturing.

Lies, lies, and more lies:
Commentary Magazine wrote:
Obama’s “False Narrative”
Peter Wehner - 07.09.2010 - 11:50 AM

Dan Balz of the Washington Post has written an article on President Obama’s dismal standing among independents (it stands at 38 percent approval according to Gallup, an 18-point difference from a year ago). Balz quotes both Republican and Democratic strategists in searching for the reason for this perilous polling condition: high unemployment, an unpopular health-care law, bigger government, a liberal governing agenda, lack of bipartisanship, and the inability to change the culture of Washington. And then we find this:

White House senior adviser David Axelrod said that the criticism of Obama as a big-spending liberal grows out of decisions the president felt he had to make to prevent a depression. “We were forced to do things from the start to deal with this economic crisis that helped create a false narrative about spending and deficits that’s had some impact on independent voters,” Axelrod said. “And that’s something we have to work on.”

Ah, yes, there’s that darn False Narrative again.

According to the True Narrative, Obama the Great acted with wisdom and courage to forestall another Great Depression. The charges of profligate spending have been manufactured out of thin air. The stimulus package has been a spectacular success. ObamaCare will bend the cost curve down. The economy is doing swimmingly. The outreach to the Muslim world has led to unprecedented breakthroughs. Nation after nation — Iran, Turkey, Russia, China, Brazil, Venezuela — are bending to Obama’s will. And all the problems America faces — from nearly 10 percent unemployment to polarization to acne among teens — are owing to Obama’s predecessor.

Yet because the Forces of Darkness so thoroughly and completely control the media and dominate the messaging wars — because Republicans have such fantastic spokesmen as RNC Chairman Michael Steele and Democrats have no bully pulpits available to them — Obama has become massively unpopular among independents. The White House, you see, has a message problem, but no other. Once they get their message out better, Obama will once again stride atop the political world.

Within the walls of the White House, it seems, Barack Obama is still viewed by people like Mr. Axelrod as a near-mythical figure. To much of the rest of the nation, he appears to be presiding over a failing presidency. If Obama and his top advisers persist in their self-delusion — which is unusual even for those working in a profession (politics) prone to self-delusion — they and their party are going to face, sooner or later, a brutal awakening.

For those that don't know, Jodie Evans is a member of Code Pink and was an Obama Campaign bundler in 2008. Obama sure loves to surround himself with terrorists and extremists, doesn't he?

Alinsky, Stalinsky, It's Still the Same Old Agitprop
By James Lewis

"Stalinism" is a useful term for the totalitarian left -- even to the left itself. It's one word they haven't been able to chew up, gulp down, and transform into its opposite. They still know what "Stalinist" means, even after generations of new names for the same community agitators: "The New Left," "hippies," "Black Panthers," "youthful radicals," "idealistic students," "feminists," "the workers," "black nationalists," "Third World socialists," "the wretched of the earth," "Green Party," "Gay activists," "LGBT," "Global Warming," "peace and freedom party," "eco activists," "civil rights campaigners," "post-modernists," "gender studies," "J Street," "Bolivarismo," "ACORN," "undocumented workers," "Moveon.org," "Liberation Theology" -- there must be hundreds and hundreds of front labels for the Same-Old, Same-Old. They make up new ones all the time. This year's fashionable lefty cult is called ... "progressivism!"

But they do remember what "Stalinism" means, because that was the bad left. It's what they call each other in their constant civil wars. Wasn't Stalin somebody eighty years ago? It's hard to remember. Don't know much 'bout history, don't know much 'bout nuthin, but Stalin still rings a bell.

The fact is that Stalinism is still here today because it has never gone away. Or what do you suppose Bill Ayers and Jodie Evans were doing in Egypt and Cyprus before sailing toward Gaza with that boatful of Turkish suiciders who were all ready to kill and be killed for Allah? Was that a coincidence? It looked like a classic piece of agitation-propaganda. A whole mob of journos were there to get pictures of all the blood and gore. The media are basically lazy, and they want onlly to hustle for photo-ops when they know they can get a big headline. It's simple laziness. The Turkish suicider stunt on the "peace flotilla" gave them headlines for weeks. Today the brainwashed masses in Europe and the Muslim countries still think the innocent side was guilty, which was the whole purpose of the stunt. Turkish fascist demagogues like Erdogan are still making hay off it.

The AP and Reuters could have written their stories before the Gaza stunt because they know it upside-down and backwards. If it bleeds, it leads, and if the Israelis had succeeded in peacefully steering those boats toward the port of Ashdod, there would have been no story. So they needed blood, and the Turkish Islamists were happy to provide it -- and with luck, to kill some Jews in the process. White hats, black hats, just like an old B Western. The only news the left can handle is old news. It's just like the old global warming crowd, who are even now going back to the lies they love so well. They can't live without those lies.

I would be very surprised if Obama and his "anti-terror czar" John Brennan didn't know all about the Gaza stunt. Their close friend Jodie Evans was right on the spot, after all, organizing the international "peaceful" demonstrators who instantly flew back home to drop identical headlines accusing Israel from Norway to Pakistan. Some of them weren't even there, but they still gave on-the-spot reports. They knew the narrative.

Jodie Evans has been to the White House six times, and that's not counting all the phone calls, the e-mails and tweets, the cutouts, and the meetings across the street in that sharia-compliant coffee shop where all the lobbyists meet the Obama gang.

In fact, John Brennan had just dropped a gigantic hint to a Muslim group that jihad is a "legitimate tenet of Islam." Jihad means "holy war," like the Crusades. That is the predominant meaning of the word in the Muslim media. The double-talk meaning of "jihad" is "inner struggle for purity," but in politics, it just isn't used that way. The word "jihad" is a political lie, and the left knows that, just like the Muslim fascists do. It's like the word "peace" in the mouth of Jozef Stalin. So Brennan dropped a deliberate inside-baseball wink-wink nod-nod to the Islamist radicals around the world. His Arab audience loved his use of "al Quds" for "Jerusalem," which legitimates the (false) assertion that Islam has an originalist claim to Jerusalem. That's why they cheered his quotation. He was telling them "Obama is on your side! Regular Americans are too stupid to get it!"

We have a big jihad sympathizer in the White House, just like Obama and his buds from Chicago, just like Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan, just like Obama's hero Malcolm X, and just like Jodie Evans and Bill Ayers whipping up crowds for Hamas. These people are predictably on the side of medieval reactionaries who practice barbarities against women, gays, Jews, Christians, and especially any creed that advocates tolerance and open-mindedness. The left is enabling evil today, just as it enabled Mao Zedong's evil in China, Pol Pot's evil in Cambodia, and Stalin's evil in Russia, Poland, and Ukraine.

So are we really supposed to think Jodie and John Brennan didn't know about the Turkish suiciders with white headbands and their wills all signed, chanting "Kaibar! Khaibar!" even before they took off for Gaza? Jodie doesn't have Brennan's phone number in the White House? The CIA doesn't have thousands of highly paid local sources to find out what really happened? Or -- maybe Jodie and John just weren't surprised that the stunt went exactly as planned?

They knew, just like they knew exactly what Helen Thomas has believed for the last two centuries. For a decade or more, Helen Thomas was the Propaganda Commissar of the White House press corps, whipping them on to attack enemies like George W. Bush. The left has known about Helen Thomas for years. She doesn't bother to hide her real beliefs. The American people find out only when she left her job for saying out loud what she'd told them every single day for all of her life in the White House press room. Good old Helen. What an idealist.

Agitprop was the Stalinist name for "community organizing," back when Communist agitators were proud to be called Communist agitators. The Gaza crisis served community agitator Obama with perfect timing, because it put overwhelming pressure on Israel just when he wanted to do some heavy-duty arm-twisting.

Yes, I know -- Obama loves Israel this week. But Obama is a cold-blooded Stalinoid. His slogan is "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a pistol." He just pulled the race card on Israel while seeming to sound friendly. He "has a gift" for that kind of double-message. Look at old photos of ruthless Malcolm X, and you can see a bit of Obama.

The radical left is run by agitprop artists who practice the same mob incitement that worked so well for Mom and Pop the Reds in the good old days. The Reichstag Fire was an agitprop stunt by the Nazis, but they learned to do all that in the same Bohemian cafés that Lenin used to haunt. It was Hitler and Goebbels who first articulated the Big Lie technique, but it was the Marxists who have used it since 1848. The Communist Manifesto starts with a threat to stir up class revolution throughout Europe. The left knows Marx and Engels wrote that threat in to make it happen all over Europe. Their agitprop created the reality, they think. This is a standard Alinsky tactic, but it's old, old.

Saul Alinsky just wrote up those old techniques for sixties radicals to memorize and made them look brand-new. There is nothing new about it. Every mob leader in history has used the same gambits.

When Noam Chomsky was kept out of Israel a couple of months ago, the worst epithet he could think of was to call Israel "Stalinist." But it's Chomsky himself who is the rhetorical bomb-thrower and propagandist, as he has been all his life. Chomsky has managed to scare and intimidate the field of linguistics for a half century, to the point where nobody believes him anymore but they don't dare to say it out loud. That's Stalinist intimidation. Nobody dared to contradict Stalin in public until he was safely dead. Then they all explained how they were innocent the whole time.

Noam Chomsky is personally responsible for a huge amount of the anti-Israel (and anti-American) agitation on the left. If Israel were run by Stalinists, the whole country would stand up and salute Obama and Chomsky with six million raised fists, all chanting in unison. But that isn't what they do over there. Millions of robots chanting in unison is for Cuba and North Korea, all the "progressive" places that Chomsky adores. Chanting in unison is for the American Robot Media.

Real democracies don't do unanimous salutes. Rush Limbaugh has a regular shtick where he plays all the media airheads saying the same words over and over again on any given day. It is astonishing. Losing their audience? Just keep repeating the Party Line. It can't be a coincidence. Real people don't have identical thoughts on the same day, day in and out. It used to be just the Communists who followed the Party Line like little stick figures. Today it's the whole media. "Mainstream" now means homogenized, lowbrow, ignorant, robotic, group-thinking cheap plastic puppets. America used to have great journalists -- Benjamin Franklin was one, and Mark Twain, and Henry Louis Mencken, all sharp writers and independent thinkers. They would be nauseated by today's media. Today, the only real journalists write for blogs.

Stalinism is no stranger to the American left. It is part of its very being. Every time another old Stalinist dies, the New York Times has a crying fit, telling us what a sweetheart the bloody-minded old fanatic really was. That's all you really need to know about the New York Times.

At some point you have to conclude that the left knows exactly how bloody and destructive it really is. Sure, a lot of the brainwashed followers live in deep denial, but the big names know. Chomsky knows where the bodies are buried, and he knows where he wants to have the next Gulag. So does Jimmy Carter, another peace-loving fan of Hamas and Hezb'allah. So does Obama. They know, they know. They are not innocent.

Malcolm Muggeridge, who ended his life as a passionate conservative and a Catholic, was born into that "progressive" little world in Manchester, England. Muggeridge became a journo for the BBC and the Guardian, the left-totalitarian organs of propaganda in the U.K. He admitted in his excellent autobiography that the Guardian writers just lied their heads off every day to push the Party Line.

George Orwell was part of that circle, and after he saw the bloodshed in Spain by the Reds and the fascists, each killing innocents with abandon, he satirized the mendacious BBC as the Ministry of Truth in 1984. Guess what? They haven't changed one little bit. Today, the Guardian and BBC combine leftist agitprop with Islamist ideology. That's why they constantly beat up on Israel in the Euro media, just like the New York Times. The left is predictable, marching in lockstep just like the old days, and they always pick the most destructive and mendacious side. They think it's Progress because to the left, we are the enemy. Don't believe me? Look it up in Alinsky's little book. America and its middle-class culture are the enemy.

But they know what really happens when leftists take over. They can't be stupid enough not to know, not after all these years. Some of them even read history books. It was a Marxist historian in France who pinned the "100 million dead victims" on the left. They know, they know.

Muggeridge was the Guardian's correspondent in Moscow during the Stalin-made famines in the Ukraine starting in the 1930s. His describes how Western correspondents were corrupted and intimidated by Stalin and by each other; they lied and lied about the Soviet horrors, knowing full well what was going on. Their Russian friends were taken away and shot, and they just kept lying. The regime went so far as to give train tours to the Ukraine for Western reporters so they could swear to their home audiences that all the peasants were laughing and well-fed. Muggeridge went along with the others -- including Walter Duranty of the New York Times, who got a Pulitzer for his decades of stellar lying -- and they saw the starving peasants standing by the railroads, village after village. Then they went back to Moscow to lie about it. Journoliars. None of them were honest.

Western journoliars lied to protect their jobs, to push their Stalinist faith, and to keep their privileged upper-class status in the land of the dying and tyrannized. Muggeridge may have been a little less guilty than the rest, but he admits that he wrote his share of lies. The Guardian would have fired him even if the Soviets didn't kick him out, so he just lied. It's exactly what CNN did during Saddam Hussein's reign of terror in Baghdad -- if your memory for media lies goes back that far. You can look it up on Google.

Historically, liberal Democrats played footsie with Stalin for thirty years (1922-1953). So did Labour socialists in Britain and Western Europe. An estimated 40 million people were killed by Stalin during that time, and that was no secret on the left. They knew, they knew. They just covered it up in the media, and thereby kept the mass killers in power. It's pretty much what they are doing right now for the genociders in the Sudan and the Congo. Scratch a Stalinist, and you find a willing defender of mass murder. All for the good of humanity, of course.

Which makes me wonder: Now that the radical Left is in control of the Democrats again, why is today any different from the days of Stalin? Just because Hillary and Obama learned from Alinsky's book, is that any different? Different cover, same book.

These are not good human beings. I'm sorry, I know some of them, and I know how incredibly blind they can be. But they can't be as blind as that. It's not possible. They know.

Or as one of their own propagandists said about poor Richard Nixon -- they are Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!

Gore also beneficiary of federal green dollars in PA
Ed Lasky

Yesterday, I blogged about Barack Obama's granting of two billion dollars of federal loan guarantees to two green schemes that benefit big Democratic donors and the nephew of Democratic Pennsylvanian Congressman Paul Kanjorski.

Apparently, one more big Democrat benefits, as well.

Al Gore-the Jolly Green Giant of the renewable energy fad-is a player, too.

From the Weekly Standard:

It is also worth noting that Nobel Laureate and former vice president Al Gore, who has accumulated a substantial fortune in the course of campaigning against global warming while investing in alternative energy and lecturing on the subject, has lent his name and support to Abengoa Solar and the parent company, Abengoa. The Spanish company's stock jumped in November 2007 when an investment fund headed by Gore announced it was acquiring a stake in the company.

So now we know why the federal government is showering our money into this solar green scheme.

After all, it can't be the jobs, which are so few and temporary in nature that the costs per job created is $386,000. It is Other People's Money so the return on investment for federal officials spending our money is infinite for them, anyway. Why not send even more green Gore's way. It is just becoming funny money anyway - and he may need a few million here and there for his Marin County hideaway

Free Market Obama
By Jeffrey Folks
Now he tells us. He's been reading Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman instead of playing golf and shooting hoops, as reported by the press. While no one was looking, he's been downloading podcasts of the Glenn Beck show and checking out heritage.org on his iPad. He's a born-again free-marketer, supply-sider, and friend of business large and small. That's the freely translated gist of President Obama's July 9 speech at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.

Who would have known it? It is Obama who, as he "said in the campaign" and as he "repeated many times as President," thinks that the private sector is "the greatest generator of jobs in America." The "mess" we've gotten into is not his fault -- it's the fault of that commie-socialist George W. Bush. If Bush had cut taxes and government regulation the way Obama has been doing, we would have never have fallen into a recession to begin with.

Not so long ago, Obama declared that "greedy corporations" were the cause of all our ills. "Now is not the time for profits," he declared just after his inauguration. Now he tells us that "the private sector, not government, is, was, and always will be the source of America's economic success."

So far, however, the president has taken no action to prevent the Bush tax cuts from lapsing in January 2011. Absent congressional action, marginal rates, taxes on investment, and inheritance taxes will skyrocket from current levels -- and investment taxes will increase further in 2013 to help pay for Obamacare. But based on what the president said in Las Vegas, it was George Bush who was the tax-raiser, and it is Obama himself who has cut taxes. "One of the first things we did was cut dozens of taxes ... for middle class and small business people," Obama declared. When was that? Oh, yeah -- that was the extra $80 I got off my federal withholding in 2009.

It's not just that the president is a big tax-cutter. He has also created 600,000 jobs since taking office. (It is true that he has also lost five million jobs, but no matter.) About 500,000 of those new positions are temporary census jobs that are about to go away. The others have been created with federal stimulus dollars. A lot of dollars.

How about the Smith Electric Vehicles plant in Kansas City, which Obama visited just before coming to Las Vegas? So far, Smith Electric has received $32 million in funding to build electric vehicles. It's so successful that they've hired fifty workers. (That's $640,000 per job created.) The company builds the Smith Newton, a sporty little urban vehicle with a top speed of 50 mph. Smith Electric proposes to build a lot of Newtons, many of them to be purchased by the federal government. It hasn't built too many yet, but someday it will build five hundred, or even more. And someday, millions of green jobs will sprout up like green shoots.

This is the kind of entrepreneurship Obama is talking about.

At its peak in the 1980s, General Motors produced over five million vehicles and employed 350,000 workers, none of them subsidized with government grants. GM held the top spot in global automobile production for seventy years. But in 2009, thanks in part to the Democrats' tightening of mileage standards, GM declared bankruptcy.

Not to worry: Obama has a plan to "incentivize private sector investments." But only in approved areas within the private sector.

Under Obama's state capitalism, government will employ "incentives" to control what kind of products companies produce, how they produce them (with union labor, for example), and at what price they sell them. The electric car for the masses will look a lot like a Prius, only smaller, and unlike the Prius, it will have to be recharged every fifty to one hundred miles. That is the car that Obama, champion of the free market, orders you to drive.

It's the same way with the president's clean energy manufacturing tax credits. Those credits fund 30% of start-up costs for companies like Amonix, which received $6 million to produce solar power systems. The government decides who gets the credits, and so decides what gets built and what gets sold. If you want to buy old-fashioned fossil-based electricity, you're out of luck. Obama wants you to buy solar, so buy it or shut up.

This is what the president means by the free market, and he's not the only one in the Democratic Party who wants to control markets while pretending that they are free. Apparently, it's all the Democratic members of Congress now running for reelection.

In his UNLV speech, Obama revealed that Sen. Harry Reid is actually a free marketer as well -- just as the day before he let it be known that Sen. Jean Carnahan, also in danger of losing her seat, is a big booster of the private sector. The only reason she supports climate change legislation is because she mistook the (now discredited) hockey-stick theory of global warming for the Laffer curve.

In fact, the only thing holding the private sector back, according to the president, is the "obstructionism" of those Republicans across the aisle. If they had only gone along with full-blown socialized health care, union card check, a second and third stimulus spending bill, a $50-billion tax on large banks, and cap and trade, the private sector would have been humming along just fine. What we need is more senators like Harry Reid fighting to ensure big profits for American businesses.

There was a time when "free market" meant the functioning of the private sector without the intrusion of government. Now Obama tells us that capitalism really means government control of the private sector. What Obama has espoused in Las Vegas is nothing less than state capitalism -- the same relationship between government and business that exists in every totalitarian society.

Whoever wrote Obama's speech ought to be awarded the Orwell Prize for political deception. The American people have soundly rejected Obama's brand of socialism, so why not call it something else? Call it free-market capitalism, even if it is state capitalism. Call it support for the private sector, even if it is control. Call it free enterprise, even if it is socialism

http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/07/free_market_obama.html

I listened to part of this speech yesterday, but had to turn it off. It was just lies, lies, and more lies. I'm just surprised that anybody can take anything this guy says seriously anymore.

U.S. Ships Could Move to East Sea for Joint Drill South Korea and the U.S. are mulling a joint maritime drill in both the East and West Seas this month after China lodged a protest against a huge U.S. military presence on its doorstep. The idea is to deploy some of the bigger American ships including an aircraft carrier to the east of the Korean Peninsula instead.

A government source on Monday said there is "near-consensus" for turning the planned West Sea drill into an exercise in both the East and West Seas to reflect the positions of Beijing and Washington. The source said the change could be announced as early as Tuesday.

In that event a large portion of the key U.S. vessels, including ships from the Seventh U.S. Fleet such as the nuclear-powered 97,000-ton aircraft carrier USS George Washington, an Aegis cruiser and destroyer, and a nuclear-powered attack submarine, will be deployed in the East Sea, the source added.

The South Korean military had hoped to stage the drill in the West Sea in response to North Korea's attack on the navy corvette Cheonan there, but the U.S. is advising caution.

Defense Minister Kim Tae-young announced the original plan on May 24.

Meanwhile, the government and military authorities are considering an indefinite delay to the resumption of psychological warfare against the North.

In a press briefing, Defense Ministry spokesman Won Tae-Jae said, "We've already announced a plan to install loudspeakers and launch a leaflet operation, which means psychological warfare has in a sense started." But he added the government also has to take long-term inter-Korean relations into account

Trial lawyers raise money for Senate Dems at event in Canada

Republicans are pouncing on Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., for joining a group of politically active trial lawyers last night in Vancouver, British Columbia, to raise money for himself and other Democratic Senate candidates. The event occurred at the American Association for Justice convention.

Contributors were invited to give up to $43,200, with the default allocation going 20 percent to Reid, 9.3 percent to Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., and about 7 percent to ten other Democratic Senate candidates.

To the disappointment of labor unions, trial lawyers have probably been the biggest beneficiaries of Washington’s total Democratic rule. Beyond their defensive successes — keeping any meaningful tort reforms out of health care reform, for example — AAJ has gone on offense. Its ambitious agenda, which includes the legislative reversal of five recent Supreme Court cases, could become the object of feverish last-minute activity in a lame-duck Congress.

After multiple visits to the White House by the group’s top lobbyist, the Obama administration opened the door to more lawsuits by barring new federal regulations that pre-empt state causes of action. House Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., recently floated a bill that would let state juries decide whether car designs are defective. The provision was removed after an outcry from automakers, who already must adhere to federal safety standards.

Moreover, the Democratic Congress has aggressively pursued and/or passed provisions that allow state attorneys general to sue over new federal laws, This allows them to deputize trial lawyers, who share in the spoils of when judgments are handed down. (The federal government is currently barred from doing this.) This provision was included in House Democrats’ health care bill, for example. It might have become law, but the election of Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass, forced Democrats to pass the already-passed Senate bill, which did not contain it. Such a provision is also included in the current version of the financial services reform bill, which already passed the House but must now pass the Senate.

If Reid and other Democrats lose, trial lawyers could face a much more hostile Congress

It sounds just like Obama and his merry band of scumbags to sneak legislation into bills that help their special interest supporters, in this case trial lawyers.

M2K, that's why I said, "It sounds just like", meaning that it was par for the course with these douchebags. Nothing these lying socialists do any more can surprise me. I'm just bringing everything to light in this thread so others can be informed about their corruption, deceit, and utter contempt for the American way of life.

Pelosi rips Gibbs's House prediction
By JONATHAN ALLEN & JOHN BRESNAHAN | 7/13/10 8:09 PM EDT

Speaker Nancy Pelosi bashed White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs Tuesday night, even as the president's top spokesman continued to backpedal from his assertion that Democrats could lose control of the House in the November election.

The fusillade from Pelosi and other Democrats at a closed-door meeting escalated an already fiery clash between the White House and its own party in Congress. During the tense evening meeting, the speaker grilled the top White House aide in attendance, senior legislative affairs staffer Dan Turton, about the impact of Gibbs' comments.

"How could [Gibbs] know what is going on in our districts?" Pelosi told her members in the caucus meeting in the basement of the Capitol Tuesday night. "Some may weigh his words more than others. We have made our disagreement known to the White House."

Then she turned to Turton and asked him to acknowledge that Gibbs' comments had been damaging to the Democratic cause, Democratic insiders said. Gibbs was not in the room for this meeting.

Turton, responding to both Pelosi and accusations from Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.), said Gibbs was speaking off the cuff and not from prepared material during a controversial appearance on Meet the Press Sunday, sources said.

The outburst from House Democrats illustrates the pressure lawmakers are feeling from an impending election and the strain of the tension – and occasionally enmity— that has characterized relations between an increasingly unpopular president and a House majority facing the possibility of huge electoral losses.

Democratic lawmakers also tried to pin their woes on the White House, saying that control of the House might not be in play if the Obama administration had done a better job of messaging on the party's agenda and accomplishments.

And while Gibbs’ remarks on “Meet the Press” on Sunday comport with the judgment of political prognosticators, they frustrated Democrats who understood the power they could have as fodder for Republicans in building support – financial and otherwise – for their House campaigns.

"I think there's no doubt there are enough seats in play that could cause Republicans to gain control. There’s no doubt about that. This will depend on strong campaigns by Democrats," Gibbs said on Sunday.

By the next morning, Democratic strategists were fuming privately that he had handed Republicans a great fundraising and voter-motivation tool.

Gibbs and other White House officials have been backpedaling, in carefully measured steps, ever since.

By Tuesday, Gibbs was saying “I think we’ll retain the House. I was asked if there were enough seats in play, and I think there are.”

But that didn't appease Democratic lawmakers, from the party's leaders to the rank and file.

Pelosi also accused the White House of playing favorites with the Senate, where President Barack Obama served. She said that the White House gives help to Senate candidates while making damaging comments about House Democrats' chances in November.

After allowing members to vent on Gibbs, Pelosi tried to tamp down the flames a bit.

"Let's not get distracted by friendly fire," she said.

A White House spokesman declined to comment immediately on the House Democrats' accusations.

But White House defenders note that the president has worked to raise money for House Democrats. A list provided by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee includes one fundraising event for the DCCC in each of Obama's two years in the presidency, a joint fundraising event in Miami for the DCCC and its Senate counterpart in 2009, a 2010 direct-mail piece for the DCCC, a direct transfer of $667,000 from the Democratic National Committee to House Democrats this year, and joint events for Indiana Democrats and Michigan Democrats in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

Pelosi and her allies in the House have privately griped that the White House hasn’t given her enough credit for pushing the president’s agenda through the House – and risking her majority and her job in doing so.

There are check marks in the House column next to virtually every major item on Obama’s legislative wish list: the $787 billion stimulus law, a climate change bill, an overhaul of the national health care system and a major Wall Street reform package.

Yet, at times, House Democrats have expressed concern that the White House is playing fast-and-loose with their majority in order to help Obama’s re-election efforts in 2012. Those fears were expressed at a meeting with White House political guru David Axelrod in April and have only grown more acute since that time.

Gibbs’ ad hoc role as handicapper re-opened the lightly scabbed wounds.

The explosive private session in the Capitol contrasted with the more mild on-the-record and background comments House Democrats made to reporters throughout the day.

“I can see how someone would glean from his comment that that possibility is out there. That possibility is always out there,” House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) said. “I think we’ll probably have some net losses. But we aren’t planning to lose anything.”

He took a mild jab at Gibbs, but nothing like what was said by his fellow leaders behind closed doors.

“I guess those people who are trying to lower expectations, that’s their prerogative. But this Democratic Caucus is trying to raise hopes and I think we’re doing a good job of that.”

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) indicated he’s giving Gibbs the benefit of the doubt.

“My eternal optimism, and my hope, is that we’re all on the same team,” he said. “Everybody in Washington gets burned once being cute. It’s OK. He’ll recover.”
