HOW is it a scam?

maybe not a scam...but not enough for me to go out and invest thats for sure. I dont like making my investments on terms like "miracle" and "divine intervention" sorry...that presentation was made by a salesman...not a scientist. and the science behind it is what will make that all be come a reality. It IS enough however to spark me wanting to do my own research.

Billy, you just now finding out about shale gas, or shale oil for that matter? Where have you been? Hiding under a rock of shale or something?

Seriously though, I only watched a few minutes of the video you posted, but I immediately knew what they were talking about as soon as it started. Unfortunately, that video was nothing more than an investor scam as Blueskies pointed out, so you could have done better. With that said, it doesn't diminish the future impact of shale oil and gas for our energy needs and economic prosperity though.

I probably should add a few things about shale deposits that more than likely weren't discussed in the video urging investments. EnviroNazi groups are against them for a couple of reasons. First, the process known as hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, used to unleash the shale gas or oil uses chemicals that could contaminate drinking water. Second, while natural gas is considered a "clean" energy, the fracking method can release methane, which is a more dangerous greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide (for those worried about global warming). And last but not least, EnviroNazis are against any energy that could threaten the viability of wind or solar, because that's where they have invested most of their money.

As I said earlier, I didn't watch much of the video, so I don't know what they claimed. But, I've read a lot about shale oil & gas over the past couple of years and I believe it could lead to American energy independence within the next decade or two. I know that some claim there's only 20 year's worth of natural gas, while others say that the supply could last about 100 years, but I believe they're both under-estimating it. If you look at the Bakken Formation in North Dakota/Montana, most of it isn't recoverable using current technology. But I don't think it's a stretch to say that it will be recoverable in the future. In that case, the shale oil and gas deposits at Bakken and other locations could last for 300 years and that's only counting known or speculated reserves.
