These guys just don't want to be beaten by a girl. What a bunch of jocks. It would be hilarious if she won.

4th place - not bad. I'm not one much into racing but I did catch much of the race. She stalled in the pit (dropping about 12 places) and then had the nose of her car ripped off, spun the car and recovered well. She is a very agressive drive with a competitive nature. I think she will do wonders for Indy car racing.
Plus, she is a hottie to boot!

I can understand the complaints, but why wait until now to demand weight equalization? Not all the male drivers are the same weight. This is actually something I would have thought was done already. Each car should be weighed WITH the driver in it, and be a minimum weight or be required to have weight added to the chassis.

Tony Stewart is, and so is Jeff Gordon.

Brian is right!
Car Racers are not JOCKS! Racing isn't even a sport... it's an event.

I will say this; certain aspects of car racing take some athletic skils. Their coordination and reflexes are as good or better than most athletes of any kind. And going over 200 mph in a car not built for a luxury ride can give the body more of a pounding than most realize.
All that being said, I do refrain from calling NASCAR or CART drivers athletes. But certainly not everyone can do what they do each week.

Drive between Gary and Chicago on I-94 and you'll see dozens of these Nascar wannabe speedracers. I think most anyone could be a Nascar driver - but most all of us don't have the financial backing and mechanic buddies to actually pursue it. That and if you don't win, you lose LOTS of money.
