Post Any car guys in here?
So I have a 1992 BMW 325i and on Monday it would not start. I eventually got it going and the engine shut off when I switched from reverse to drive, got home and the engine shut down again. Took it to a mechanic who charged too much to fix the fuel pump and claimed it was ready to go. I went to pick it up (after the shop had closed) and it wouldn't start! Finally got it going and had the same issues as Monday. Called the guy but since he closes up shop at 5 I didn't hear back.

Any thoughts as to what may make it not start up and why it's turning off when I do manage to start it?

Just a guess. Maybe your catalytic converter is plugged.

I have a friend who has a syndicated radio show that deals with these types of issues. His name is Robbie, and his show is ChristianCarGuy. You can find him on Facebook, or maybe via a google search and ask him any types of questions and he'll help you figure it out. Be blessed.

Yup. Many have had that issue and mechanics try other things first, say they fixed it and bam...issue still there. I'm betting its the converter. But then again I'm the opposite of the BOB SEGAR song.
