Woohoo! That's cuz LB is the hotspot!

However, due to the massive amount of threads soon to be open with the hiring of a new coach...I'm moving this to Off Topic. Sorry LFAK!

Due to the incredibly high number of new members on this board, I predict that the 100 mark will be shattered on draft day. It could very well be broken before then, but I don't think that 150 is out of the question for the draft.

I don't know... draft day wasn't what many expect it was... we only had about 10 members in the chat room at the time, mainly due to the fact that everyone was watching their TV. I know I didn't speak for about 15 minutes, as I had company over and we were screaming "NO!!!" as Mike Williams appeared (wanted Derrick Johnson).

I understand what you are saying but the membership has more than doubled since then. Trust me, there will be more than 30 in the chat this year and even more on the board after the picks are made. This site really ought to utilize the chat room more often. I tried to get the game day chats organized after I joined here, but I was either at the game, had company, power blackout one week, or just grew so frustrated with the team that I didn't feel like it anymore. I'm hoping that will change and if it does, the draft day chat will be a blast.

On a side note, I'd like to organize a Lionbacker Mock Draft in chat where each person is the GM of a particular team. I've done this in the past and they are fun to see what might happen. Interest normally wanes after 3 rounds, but it's interesting up until then. It also would introduce the membership to the chat and perhaps they would use it more often after that. Just random thoughts on my part, but I'll post about the Chat Mock Draft about mid-March with an actual date of the draft in early April.

It's sad really... It's kinda of like the JFK assassination or 9/11.. (except I wasn't born yet for the JFK thing) I remember exactly where I was and what I thought the day the Lions drafted Mike Williams. :D

We did one last year. It was tough because of the lack of people (I think each team needs a GM and assistant in case the GM can't make the pick). It was just WAY too slow. Picks need to be made ASAP to get 3 rounds done. We had planned a 3 round mock right before draft time. I don't think we were going to include trades...since trades are easy to do if you don't actually run the team lol

sly you should talk with Brian about it...he ran ours last year. I think we have a much larger base of people to work with this year so I don't think numbers would be a problem. I do like the team approach convo mentioned.

Yeah, last year's one was a pain because once we got out of the first round, no one cared anymore, we had to recruit members from other boards who didn't really have much of an interest, and it got to the point where it was just me making all the picks for the teams, and everyone going "yeah, that sounds good..."

I'm thinking of a different format this year, it's going to be easier because we have so many more members that have high post counts meaning more productive knowledgable GMs. I've done these for about 4 years, and it really is the committment of the posters that gets it done.

Brian, I did them the last 2 years at another site  and I took part in one about 4 years ago at detroitlions.com when they used to have a chatroom. As you said, it takes commitment from the GMs that decide to take part in it, but I don't think we'll have a problem with that this year. If need be, we could have 16 GMs who are responsible for two teams apiece. I'm quite certain that we could find 16 people on this site willing to do it.
