Post The cost of going to a game (any game, any sport)
I just felt like starting this to compare prices of various sporting events in several cities. Of course, alot of it will depend on the individual and what he/she is willing to spend money on.

I went to the Tiger/Yankee game at Comerica Park today and this is what it cost me:
Ticket-$20.00
Convienience Charge-$4.25
Parking-$10.00
3 Large Beers-$24.00
2 Hot Dogs-$6.50
French Fries-$3.50
Bottled Water-$3.50 (after the 94 degree heat got to me)

That totals $71.75 for a damn baseball game!

I know that I have spent more on Lion games, but what has everyone else spent?

I go to Lions games in a van with 7 other people. We pay for everything (outside the stadium) up from and make a pool fund. 75 bucks a game (per person) covers our seats, parking, pre and post game tailgating. I'm genereally not a drinker so I sign up for the designated driver contest at most every game. (I won a kick rectum pull-over coat last year) they give you a voucher for a free pop, but, you can upgrade to the large for like 2 bucks so I get off pretty cheap while watching the games.

OMG! Going to a Lions football game is such an outrageous expense anymore...

$7 - Breakfast to meet friends for game.
$30 - Parking.
$420 - Tickets / 6 @ $70 each.
$0 - Free beer (because I had the tix)
$8 - Something to eat.
$20 - Tip to get a table at topless bar afterwards.
$300+ - Table & Lap dances.
$50 - Bar tab (My share).
$2 - Tip bathroom attendant.
$10 - Tip parking valet.
$20 - Gas.

$877 - Total.

Memories = Priceless.

Sly... I don't know where you got your dogs from, but they're pretty much 5 bux anywhere in the park... You sure you paid 6.50 for two?

I was at the game too.. I had a similar expense, but my cheap azz never pays for parking... Yesterday cost my about 60 for the Tigers game, and I hit up State bar and Shores Inn after the game...

I used to drive up to Tigers Stadium back in the late 1980s. Back then gas was rarely over $1, you could park for $3 at some church yard, bleacher seats complete with cokeheads ran under $4.00, and hot dogs were still under 3.00. I am not really enticed by attending professional sports in person.

I loved the atmosphere at Tigers Stadium and Miller Stadium back in the day, but these new stadiums do not do it for me. The Metrodome has to be one of the worst places to watch baseball. It is almost like plugging in a video game. I think that is because stadiums have gone corporate, in architecture, their audience, and their desire to make money.

The best thing to watch live I find now are things like the Hope-Calvin basketball game, high school hockey in the Twin Cities, or division three football.
