He may be before your time but Smoking Joe Frazier has died of liver cancer at the age of 67.

Joe Frazier is from back in the day when heavywieght fights attracted even little kids and were held in places like Manilla and Zaire.
Joe's most famous fight were the back and forth championship fights versus Muhammed Ali.

The boxing world is in total disarray these days and it just lost a great Champion.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe's family, friends and boxing fans everywhere.

I remember watching boxing in the 70's with Frazier, Ali, and Foreman. It was a great sport back then, but has gone completely downhill since.

tru dat. Boxing was driven primarily by the Heavyweights and we haven't had an interesting champ in that division since Tyson.

Throw in all the different boxing factions and mixed martial art, you can pretty much write of the sport now.

I miss the Hearns/Hagler/Leonard/Duran battles of the 80's - some of those were pretty epic. I remember going to the Joe to watch Hearns/Hagler on the big screen - that place was going crazy.
