Rumors - 3 more cuts have been made
I'm hearing reports that Julius Curry, Abdual Howard and Josh Lovelady have been released. I'm a little surprised about Josh, not the other two.

Yes I read that as well. Do you ever wonder how the guys get the word of being cut? Does the coach call them one by one into his office or in a group or red card on the locker?

He does it one on one. If you get called into the coaches office and are asked to bring your play book - well let's just say that's not a good sign.

Who are going to be our guards?! Hobson, Joyce, Loverne, and then we have a bunch of basically rejects? Littleton, Wilson and Miller. OUCH! This doesn't look like a wonderful position at the moment, and I am being kind.

My bad, forgot about the best one of them all....Woody.

Brian - see my guesses at the OL in the feature story today (as well as every other position)
The full releases as reported by the AP:
Lions release 6 players to trim roster to 65
The Associated Press ?
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) ? Former Michigan standout Julius Curry, Josh Lovelady, Abdual Howard, Stevie Baggs, Ahmad Childress and Tim Van Zant were released by the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

The cuts brought the team's roster to the NFL-mandated 65 players.
Curry, a cornerback, played the last three games of 2003 with the Lions. He was released by the Chicago Bears last August as an undrafted free agent, and later was added to Detroit's practice squad. His brother, Markus, is a starting cornerback at Michigan.
Lovelady, a backup lineman from Houston, has been with the Lions since they added him as an undrafted free agent in 2001.
Howard, a former Florida State standout, was listed as Detroit's third-string strong safety in training camp.
Childress, a defensive tackle from Alabama; Baggs, a linebacker last season at Bethune-Cookman; and Van Zant, a receiver from Texas A&M, all were undrafted rookies.
The Lions must cut the roster to 53 players by 4 p.m. Sunday.
