Lions fan in Hawaii, and Garcia top offseason acquisition
As I catch up I'm going to post stories I come across, even if they're old and real hard core fans already have dissected them. I'll do them as I see them, too, so I don't sit here and wait for something else before posting.

I came across this Peter King note, and thought it was pretty funny. Does he know about MLive.com's Lions coverage? He might be the perfect candidate to read, listen, chat, and talk with the forumites.

g. Coffeenerdness: Spent a couple of very nice early mornings in Maui at the (pardon my French) Bad rectum Coffee Company. Sampled a latte and a great cup of dark roast. Got to talking with the barista on the second day and told him about the NFL Meetings up the road. He was a big Lions fan. "Can you do me a favor?" he said. Sure, I said. "Can you please go tell [Lions owner] William Clay Ford that Joey Harrington is terrible? We're never gonna win with him." Consider the message passed.

Don Banks of CNN/SI ranks the offseason acquisitions, and has Jeff Garcia at the top of the heap.

1. Jeff Garcia, Detroit -- He walks in the door knowing coach Steve Mariucci's offense better than starter Joey Harrington does. No more free passes for the Lions' 2002 first-round pick.
