:?: Is Tom Kowalski off his rocker? Why are they always reporting this stuff?

How are you Bonita?

Tom has always been a little of his rocker. To his credit, he didn't say that Joey was going to the Bears to be Grossman's backup. That was Bill Emkow's comments on a PFW article:

Quote:
Joey Harrington could be counting the days to his departure from Detroit. I guess Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football Weekly wasn't too far off in his speculation that Harrington could spend the 2005 season backing up Rex Grossman in Chicago. You can hear Nawrocki's speculation in our pre-draft interview series on our audio page.

As for the Alex Smith story, that whole thing was a mess.

I am well, thanks for asking. :)

You're right, Kowalski didn't say that. But you know how I feel about Joey and I just get so incensed with the rampant speculation. I know a visit doesn't mean anything, and I'd seriously doubt if Smith is even around at 10 (hopefully the Lions will trade down), but I guess the controversy of it all brings visitors to the site... :x

I know exactly how you feel about Joey, my suggestion would be to steer clear of Killer!

Correct on every point. I don't think Smith will be there at 10, but there is a slim chance. If he happens to fall to 10, Millen wants to increase the Lions trade value of the pick by making teams think they have a real interest. Millen's a "player" when it comes to the draft, this move tells me that the Lions are planning for every possible scenario at 10.

I am sure there is a good story for a writer here.

It's defiantly Alex Smith, the TE...I read about 5 articles stating that it was typo or missprint saying QB.

The articles were correcting that Alex Smith the TE visited first, not the QB.

Later in the week, the Lions also brought in Alex Smith, the QB.

So both Alex Smith's visited Lions facilities.

Actually the initial reports were correct. Alex Smith QB Utah indeed visited Detroit. Alex Smith TE Stanford will visit within the next week...
