LOL....That's what I do. A defined thread in the off topic sections. My rules are, no pink, no action and absolutely no kiddy porn. They're pretty much as I suggested earlier....playboy type classy photo's.

This way the ladies here will know not to look as well, though I have seen ladies at other forums post 'Hunka Hunka burnin' love" threads and such...LOL. Also, you will know the chances you're taking when viewing from work.

Really, I'm curious though. I've only ever worked construction grade labor and within the military ranks. We're a crude animal. I am in school, however, training for what will likely place me in an environment similar to what you described.

Do they really get their panties in a bunch over a little skin???

I would like to think that Americans are a little beyond that.

Don't worry, if you're on the internet at work, then they know what you're looking at. They have ways of tracking every website that you viit and for how long you are there. Nifty, huh?

Hey folks. Just found your place today. An acquaintance of mine notified me of the "Detroit Top Sites" page and I saw you guys listed at the top. Impressive. Is this a new place??? I've never heard even a whisper about it until today. I have noticed a member at several other Detroit Lions forums by the name of Lionbacker. Is he the Administrator here???

A little about me. I'm a contraversial person. I was a member at TLF since it's creation and until just recently. I also frequent a few other forums, but none of them listed on the "top sites" page. I like the variety, but none of them offer exactly what I'd like, so I created my own fan forum. It's humble, but I intend to grow as my membership grows.

Anyway, I wanted to check this place out and, although I haven't seen it all yet, it seems like a decent place.

I do want to ask about the rules. They seem simple enough. However, if someone could clarify what excessive profanity is and what "nasty" nude pictures are, I'd appreciate it.

If this place is open to diverse personalities, I think I'll be able to add some colorful conversation. However, if I wind up being a bit too much for your preference, I'd appreciate honest and tactful communication before passing judgment. I've learned from my time at TLF that it's better to walk away when you're not wanted. Even if they're wrong, you're outnumbered.

I look forward to conversing here and making my personality a part of this forum community. Hopefully I'll be accepted.

Also, moderators......if this post is in the wrong place, I won't mind it's re-direction. I made a quick browse to see if any similar threads existed and found none. Just figured an introduction was appropriate.

Thanx......Sanders97

Ha, I see you've never met Sanders before. He tends to be a little long winded, but usually worth the read.

Yeah, and all sorts of websites blocked. I got some porno pop up the other day when using IE, but pages like digitalblasphemy are blocked. I thinkt their page blocking priorities are screwed up.

Even my personal website tracks who visited my page, their IP, their ISP, location, how long they were at each page, etc. It's neat.

 Welcome to the forum Sanders97. Like all the other guys have said already, everyone has their opinions here and we don't all agree, but we always try to keep it civilized. You will find a good collection of knowledgable fans here as well as some good people. Look forward to future chats. Be sure to check out the articles on this site as well. Very informative, with a few unusual twists from time to time. Pablo does a great job of keeping things fresh. Enjoy!

Hey sanders... I don't know if you remember me, but I'm from the DLMB. I saw you talk about your recent fallout with TLF and even saw your startup of a new forum. I also post at the Underground and Redzone... but find myself here most of the time for simple reasons. Like you I've been in search for a no nonsense board with no BS. What I am looking for in a board are:

- Intellectual, mind stimulating football discussion
- High visibility/traffic
- Well Balanced Moderation
- No Board war BS

and well Lionbacker comes closest to all of it. It doesn't quite have the traffic and viewership that the DLMB has... but it is the number one viewed fansite now, thanks to Paul and Brian's efforts to make a frequently updated site. The DLMB has a lot of immaturity, and selective moderation. I will go there frequently because of the high viewership but it isn't the perfect board. There are other boards that have gone to extremes of heavy moderation to no moderation at all. My perception of the perfect balance of moderation is this:

One that exists but it doesn't seem like it does. You know it is working when you don't notice it at all. This comes from a core of posters who know posting etiquette - they know to attack arguments and not each other. There is too much moderation when you feel handcuffed posting things, or threads get locked or deleted just because there is some heated discussion. There isn't enough moderation when posters feel threatened or worry about what and how they post... or when you hear nothing but complaints. The fact is... when everything is working fine, you don't notice moderation... it's like a good security guard... stays out of the way most of the time and comes out when he's needed. Most of the time doing things in the background unnoticed.

Lastly, what I can't stand and what ultimately made me land here is the board war BS. When boards feel a need to knock other forums or brag about how great they are... it's annoying and unnecessary. Which is why I hope that this place never builds a huge ego... it is the 'we are so much better than you' BS that irritates me the most. So may lionbacker never boast or brag about what a superior site it is. If it's great... then the contents speak for itself and it goes without saying. Alright! Now that I've ranted about board politics after swearing never again. May this topic never be mentioned again by me ever on lionbacker. never ever ever. I swear.

I've said my peace.

HB

horsemanjb....LOL. I try not to sneak up on folks. You know me. I'm a "put myself out there" kinda guy. Good to see ya again as well.

Honolulu_blue.....I do remember you. In fact, I think you were even at the DL board all those years ago when I was there. I don't care for that board much at all. I do see you at the Underground, but I don't post much over there. Good place and good people though. I chime in from time to time, but the offseason funk has ahold of me completely. Just not much going on.

Also, I can't help but notice what you're saying about board wars. My place is far from perfection and I also know many will not want to be a part of what I'm trying to do. That's cool. Others will. I just want it known that I do not favor the board wars either. I'm having enough trouble trying to learn about this stuff. I don't need the added hassle.

Nonetheless, Lionbacker looks like a great place. Kind of a happy medium between my ideas and that of the other more conservative fan forums.

loyallion23....thanx for the welcome. I'll have to check out the main page. I'm more into the interactive stuff, but I haven't even made a solid look into all the content on the forums yet. I'm sure I'll get to the main page. Don;t take offense. I really don't pay much attention to any sites main pages.

Thanx to all for the warm welcome. I'll look forward to chatting with new folks here and the more familiar ones as well.
