Post Cornbread???
We all know what it means, strangely enough, but what is it's origin? I've been wondering this for a few years now.

Well in regards to the Lions talk I know that the local radio station (WDFN) used to use it in terms of Sports PR feeding us bullcrap to keep us happy so they refer to it as feeding us Corn Bread. My best guess from the humor they used it from (I think Eric Pate started it but I am not sure) is based upon slave owners giving their slaves corn bread to keep them happy despite the terrible conditions. Anyways that's my experience and my best theory.

You, sir, are abolutely correct.

Eric Pate used to refer to William Clay as "Massa Ford" and the whole slaves/cornbread thing came from that.

Sean Baligian is currently the main proponent of that theme on the station.

Hey Smack! Welcome to the boards...wut did I win???

I don't get to listen to the stations as much as I used to anymore. It seems that sports is an aside to wacky-zany games and on occasion you can pick up a decent interview or sports convo 8-[

I used to be a zealot and listen all day but those days are over...now I listen to NPR or 950 (traffic and weather on the 8s w00t!!!) read2.gif Did I just say that out loud???

You should try listening to AM 1270 Sports Radio. S & L in the Morning is a great show. Marc Spindler (ex-Lion DT) and John Lund. 6 - 10am.

I listen to this station all day long.
