I have loyally read most posts on this site during off-seasons and before and after games. This season has obviously brought out the worst in Lions fans. I have read more negative comments than positive. No one is really talking about what I want to read. I know this season is basically over. I want to start talking about next season. Where do we need to improve, without answers like: Everywhere. What coaches are out there that you like. General Managers? Free Agents besides Matt Cassel? And since it looks pretty probable that we will get there, who would you like for the first pick in the draft. I want to read positive plans, not slander. Please help Lionbacker pros. |

It's not slander if it's true. Show me some positive answers to your questions. My thread about Cassell was chock full of positivity. Why can't we discuss him? We do need to improve everywhere....except for CJ and Jason! Sometimes the truth hurts. Positive: CJ is #4 in receiving yards Jason is #8 in career scoring!! |

I have been a loyal member here since 06, and have been around the forum long before I joined. Lionbacker is always my first visit in the morning and at night. But lately I do not even load Lionbacker all I have seen is some guy named Pencil flooding our forums. For posters like me and the posters that have been around looong before me here, I do not see a need to post the negative as any real fan already knows all the negative. I do not need someone like Pencil with 5 posts telling me what is wrong with my team, instead tell me how to fix it. Tell me something that will improve this team that is realistic. |

I am positive that this team will not turn it around until a GM is brought in that understands that we need to build the Oline and Defense. I am positive that I want the entire coaching staff to be fired by the monday after the last game of the regular season. I am hopefull that after 50+ years the Fords will finally hire the right man to GM the team. Thats about as positive as I get about this team right now. Unitl we know who the Fords are going to hire as GM we have no way or reason to look forward beyond the merciful end of this season. We could speculate about who shoudl be hired and what positions should be the emphasis in the draft and FA. Until the new GM is hired, and given this franchises history, there is no reason to be positive or hopefull beyond the hiring of a new GM. Essentially, like the team itself we are in limbo until the end of the season. |

Some Positive Things then..... 1) During a Lions Game, I forget about all of my worries (If I will be laid off, Bills, paying for school etc) 2) #1 Draft pick (I hope we don't pick a WR) 3) Lions merchandise will be cheaper (If I can find a family member to pick up some stuff from K Mart in MI to send to me for X-mas) 4) Matt Millions is like a fat kid in dodgeball, he's O-U-T! 5) At least we will set a NFL record this season (0-16). (I hope not, but hey, when have the Lions did what I wanted?) 6) Season Tickets are now available (Maybe I will be able to afford to fly to DET and watch a "Live" game next season.....) 7) Because of going 1-15 or 0-16, maybe we will get a weaker schedule next season? 9) Its Turkey Day tommorrow...have fun watching the football games or listening to them if FF is blacked out. 10) HAPPY THANKSGIVING--LETS HOPE FOR A LIONS WIN!! --GO LIONS! |

I wouldnt be to positive of the coaching staff being gone after the last game of the season Ford always seems to be out of town then. they will survive an additional week lol |

How about the Atlanta Falcons? That team was a disaster this year and now they're fighting for the playoffs. The Lions have two first round picks in the draft, so if they hit on those they could get better in a hurry. |

Positive and Lions don't go together since the 50's. I wish for the good ole days of Wayne Fontes. Never thought I would ever say that. But the Lions as a whole are that bad. |

Nothing positive to say about today. This is my first actual look at this team this year and this is much worse than I thought. The drum beat continues to move us off of Thanksgiving Day because we suck so bad, and the fans have even gotten to the point that the outcome is expected, they don't even boo anymore. The first two Titan touchdown runs were so bad fundamentaly that a high school coach would be fired for that demonstration of lack of preperation. This is truly an embarrassment. |

If Bill Ford Jr. gets total control over the Lions things will drasticly change. He said he will do whatever it takes to win superbowls.." The fact is the old man is a cheap dude. heck, remember why the Lions the lions left tiger stadium??? (they were charged 1 dollar a year to play there) the silverdome was free of charge. lol thats why they left. Bill Ford Jr. needs to have FULL CONTROL. Then he will spend whatever it takes. That is my new hope... lol ... sad but its all i have. |
