Any news on the Lions resigning Drummond yet? I believe he is our only RFA that isn't resigned yet....whats the hold up? He is an unbelievable return threat!

Not only that as I displayed earlier at times our ONLY offense :? They won't let him get away though else they would be total fools.

They better not try and use him as trade bait for the draft. Who would we use as a return man? Swinton is offically gone, I guess they are just going to wait to sign him. Doesn't make sense to me, but I guess that doesn't really matter. lol

They had to submit contracts to RFAs by 4/15 (last Friday). Maybe he's just complaining for more money...or giving the fans something to fret about?

i don't think it has to do with him wanting too much money because i have heard a few interviews with him saying he wants to stay in Detroit. He likes what we're building here and he thinks that we have a good shot at being a contender.

Well, I know that. He said that in his chat on ESPN. But it was just a thought, maybe he does want more money, ya never know. I mean, I can tell the guy isn't a jackhole like TO, but he could always say, "how about a little more, I'm a pro bowler?"

drummond needs to stay healthy. our special teams coach is the man and if drummond wants to get a ridiculous contract they should let him walk and let chuck do his magic...

It is true, as much as I like Drummond, I think our coaching staff can pretty much mold another returner. Look at our past seven or eight seasons, the one constant has been our special teams unit.

Using Rialoas contract as a measuring stick, Eddie deserves a raise.

Chuck Priefer has been the man. And before that it was Frank Ganz (sp) but we've always had outstanding Special Teams Coaches

He is due a base salary of $1.368 million as a result of the tender offer given him by the Lions. He has nothing to cry about money wise. Not too many kick return men get that much in salary. He could be trying to negotiate a long term deal. Who knows? But I doubt he's going anywhere, and I HIGHLY doubt he's intentionally trying to work up the fans.

Drummond will not be leaving if you think that, but I have no clue what the holdup is...I know he is a restricted free agent but could they try to give him a long term deal rather then 1 year?? Maybe thats what there doing but I dont know if they can do that or not...

A restricted FA can be given a deal like anyone else. The Lions may simply not be willing to give him a long term deal due to his getting injured every year.
