 Old Lions guard released
The Jaguars released former Lions offensive guard Mike Compton... remember him?

I always liked mikes versatility...I thought it was one of the poorer moves that we made in the recent regime.

We let Compton and Jeff Hartings go at the same time. Millen said it was to get younger so we signed ray brown.
Hartings is still going strong with the Steelers and I hope someone picksup Compton He could play every spot on the line

Good points from VA. Given the history with Millen and the youth movement you gotta think they wouldn't even consider Compton. But given the injury to our current utility OL (Matt Joyce), he would fill a short-term need.

I agree. Compton did not mind though because he was ready for a change of scenery. Hartings however, was a big mistake. Millen was as green as could be when it comes to negotiating. Lions gave Hartings a very fair contract offer. They tried to squeeze a little more out of it and Millen copped a tude. Hartings did sign with Pittsburg for the amount he asked from the Lions, however.
