Lions sign Brandon Kennedy (KK's brother)
Brandon Kennedy, DT
Position: DT
School: North Texas
Ht., Wt.: 5'10, 350 (the guy must be an egg)
40 Time: 5.17
BIO: Two-time Sun Belt Player of the Year and brother to former Arkansas safety Kenoy Kennedy, now with the Denver Broncos. Totaled 66/17/6 as a senior after junior totals of 76/24/10. Posted 38/6/1 as a sophomore.
POSITIVES: High-revving, productive collegian who lacks the pure height for the next level. Explodes off the snap with a great first step, plays with excellent pad level and pushes opponents up the field. Bears down on the ball carrier with a great burst of closing speed and redirects to the action well. Goes hard sideline-to-sideline and displays speed to the flanks. Explosion off the ball and overall quickness gives him the upper hand and causes problems for blockers trying to stop him. Terrific technique with his hands, tenacious and keeps coming. Also, displays the skill to drop off the line and play in space.
NEGATIVES: Short and engulfed at the line and though physically strong, still gets wired in blocks at the point.
ANALYSIS: On film Kennedy really stands out and would seem to be a terrific prospect for the next level. But factoring in he barely touches the tape measure at 5-10, one must severely downgrade him. The type of prospect very similar to Joe Klecko; will be downgraded because poor measurables yet a competitor that will find a way to make it at the next level.
(5-10, 350) comes to Detroit after originally signing with Denver as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2004 NFL Draft. He spent the 2004 preseason with the Broncos before being released Sept. 1.

Must be an egg is right! My God, I have never seen those measurables on an NFL player. This guy makes the "Fridge" look Svelte.

Millen loves speed. I guess there is nothing wrong with a sideline to sideline type 350 pounder. That load is going to put some major fear in the ball boys though. Maybe we can try him at fullback?

There's a rumor floating around that the reason Kenoy got off the plane was because Detroit said they would sign his brother, "Egg." Wonder if this is true? Millen was hurting for a bone crushing SS... Somehow, I highly doubt this is true.

Be great if he could be a Jerry Ball type of player, I am sure Jerry was under 6 foot tall to. But Jerry could dunk a basketball at his size!

At 5'10" - 350lbs he's one donut away from being two players on the D-line!! Think of the cap $ we'll save.
