The Catch - Roy Williams style
Everyone's buzzing about this Roy Williams minicamp catch since Killer first told everyone about it in the forum the day it happened. Here's Kowalski's forum entry talking about it. Here's his story talking about it.

CLICK HERE to see a video of this catch from the coach's film.

With every positive comes a negative. At least with Lions fans. In our forum, many are debating how bad of a throw it was, and that Williams was simply making Joey Harrington look good. (Give them a break, it's a slow news week.) So Kowalski clarifies:

TomKowalski: Let me settle this ... or fan the flames even higher ...
harrington's pass was perfectly thrown ... bly's coverage was perfect because he cut off the receiver to put himself in position for the interception ... williams' catch was perfect because he did what he was supposed to do - catch the ball in adverse conditions ...

OMG, I agree with something that Tom Kowalski says!

Given the blanket coverage by Dre', Joey put that ball the only place Roy had a chance to catch it and Bly had no chance of intercepting it.

This may be old "Reel" stuff but I read this today about Mike Williams...

Quote:
The knock against the 6-foot-5, 229-pound Williams has been his lack of speed. He ran two 4.59 40-yard dashes at the NFL combine.

But it didn't take him long to show Bly he's fast enough for professional football, running past him on an inside route.

"I wasn't expecting him to get out of his break like he did," Bly said. "He was so explosive -- so fast. He had me flipped and turned around. It kind of caught me by surprise."

Williams said he doesn't pay attention to critics who have him pegged as a tight end in the NFL.

"I might not run fast on a track, but I play fast," he said.

Very good point Brian. I don't think anyone thinks they will be able to do that again, but it shows what they're capable of.

Brian is just bitter cause the Cards have no running game...have 4 QBs for Denny to shuffle through, and the have a red bird as their symbol (which you will often find painted on Grandmas tea set) while we have the king of the Jungle. Plus the new Red uniform is soooooo bad. Oh and Detroit just beat out the guy you quoted on practise pottytrain2.gif

lol...jk Bri...I am just still sick and it's making me cranky
