From the past 6 drafts, we have 20 players still on the roster, 19 of which are from the last 3. Only Riley Reiff is left from 2010-2012, assuming we don't bring back Whitehead. 3 years worth of players who should be on their second contract with the team are gone or out of the league.

So how come we havent made a Super Bowl yet?

Dominic Raiola is back in some capacity with the Lions. He was spotted at OTAs helping with drills. Uh oh.

Man, it would be a huge plus if Van Noy actually panned out: http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/20 ... _drop.html

I'd be excited to see something from him. We traded up to get him after all. If he comes around our LB corps could be scary with a healthy Levy and Whitehead manning the middle. KVN might even be able to provide a little pass rush.

And, we still have Tulloch. We don't need the cap space. I say we keep him. And we would have some amazing depth at Linebacker.

Lions working out Arian Foster this week. If healthy would be a good addition.

He signed with the Dolphins.

Even healthy I don't think he will add much if anything to a team. He's coming back from an Achilles at age 29, so he won't be able to run this season anywhere near as well as he has in the past and most likely won't be anything more than a teams 3rd back for what remains of his career.

ALLEN PARK -- The hits just keep on coming for the Detroit Lions' front seven.

Detroit is expected to be without top defensive tackle Haloti Ngata on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams, according to multiple reports. Ngata is dealing with a shoulder injury he suffered in last week's win against Philadelphia.

"Check the injury report," coach Jim Caldwell said when asked if he expects Ngata to play.

The team's first injury report is due out later Wednesday, although it won't say whether or not an injured player is going to be able to play Sunday.

If Ngata is out, that's another blow for a Detroit defense that has played its last four games without top linebacker DeAndre Levy and its last three games without top defensive end Ezekiel Ansah. Reserve defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry was also placed on injured and subsequently released with a settlement.

The Lions have struggled to stop the run and generate a pass rush without those guys, but Ngata has been one of the top guys left. He's played more snaps than anybody at defensive tackle this season, and has eight tackles and 1.5 sacks.

There are some options to replace him alongside Tyrunn Walker. Khyri Thornton played the most among the reserves last week, though second-round pick A'Shawn Robinson has done some good things too.

Robinson has been particularly adept at batting down passes, doing it twice in the regular season on limited snaps. He also registered his first sack last week against Philadelphia, and has six tackles,

"He's growing and developing," coach Jim Caldwell said. "He's just coming along. He's still young, he's still green, but he's starting to make some plays for us. That play he made at the end of (the game), where we needed to get a stop there down the stretch, those are the kinds of things we anticipate he'll be able to do on a regular basis. He's taking all the necessary steps to head in that direction, but like I said, he's young."

Really, the day after I pickup their Defense and drop the eagles. I will prob regret that now, but its too late. Good thing the rams still suck on offense.

So a day after we sign QB Logan Thomas to the practice squad to play TE, and set up a long term plan for him, the Bills swoop in and sign him to their active roster to play TE.

Silver Lining: Other Front Offices are paying attention to what our Front office is doing and going after our PS Players.

Nice article on Marvin Jones. Hope to see this change in routine pan out this coming season. http://www.espn.com/blog/detroit-lions/post/_/id/29851/after-missing-out-in-2016-marvin-jones-believes-more-there-for-me-in-2017
