Re: Lions trade for Ronnie Brown
I'd be willing to bet Ronnie Brown is PISSED now, because he knows that with the Lions he was far more likely to see some playing time.

Re: Lions trade for Ronnie Brown
This is a big deal if you ask me.
1) Now trade deadline is past, so we cant pick up a RB from another team or do a diff trade.
2) We know Harrison isnt part of our plans, and he knows too, but hes still on our roster, and stuck unless we IR him. (correct me if im wrong)
3) If they didnt already know, teams will know we are weak in run , tried to get help and failed, so they will exploit this deficiency even further.

Re: Lions trade for Ronnie Brown
It was a minimum contract vet for minimum contract vet +7th rounder 2 years from now. Brown wasn't going to come in and blow up for 200 yards a game. He just gave a different dimension from Harrison who's been on the inactive list for the last 3 weeks. He was just someone familiar with linehan's offense instead of the backs that are available on the free agent market. It wouldn't surprise me if both backs don't get released and signed anyway. I don't see it as that big of a deal at all. My only question is why did Harrison fail the physical?

Re: Lions trade for Ronnie Brown
Not to sound cynical, but could this be a case of one team screwing another knowing full well that there are only a couple of wildcard spots to go around?

The, very much unconfirmed, rumor is that Harrison has a brain tumor.

I would imagine a story like that would spread like wildfire.

Re: Lions trade for Ronnie Brown
Terrible news if true. Harrison has approached his time with the Lions as a real pro, even if he hasn't produced. Hoping for the best.

Re: Lions trade for Ronnie Brown
Regarding Ronnie Brown, might he just be released? I believe that as a veteran he wouldn't be subject to waivers, so he could sign with us immediately.
