Week 10 starts Flex Scheduling..... We've been Flexed.
Ok, not to a Sunday night, but from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m Quote: NFL moves Lions-Bears in Week 10, Jets-Patriots stays on NBC Posted by Michael David Smith on October 31, 2011, 12:00 PM EDT Bears quarterback Cutler tries to escape rush of Detroit Lions defender Suh as he throws out of his own endzone during third quarter NFL football game in Detroit Reuters
Flexible scheduling comes to the NFL in Week 10, as the league tries to put the best games on at the best times for the TV audiences. But not much is changing for the first flexible Sunday.
The NFL announced today that only one game is moving on Sunday, November 13: Lions-Bears, which was scheduled to be shown at 1 p.m. Eastern on FOX but will now kick off at 4:15 p.m. on FOX.
Jets-Patriots will remain the NBC prime time game, as previously scheduled.
For Weeks 11-15, the NFL will announce any schedule changes no later than 12 days before the games in question. For Week 16, in which 13 games will be played on Saturday, December 24, there will be no flexible scheduling. For Week 17, the flexible schedule decisions will be made just six days in advance in an attempt to put a game with playoff implications in prime time.

While I appreciate the Lions getting more national exposure, for purely selfish reasons, I prefer the 1 PM kickoffs. It's like tradition or something and the late starts break up my Sunday routine. The same thing goes for Michigan starting at Noon on Saturdays. Anything else just doesn't seem right.

So we have to beat the Bears at 4:15 instead of 1:00. No big deal.

Good thing about it being a bit later.. is that I can get my 4yr old daughter a nap in before heading to my buddy's house to watch the game. She's been a Lions fan since birth and this is her 3rd year going to watch the games with me.

Running my first full marathon that Sunday in San Antonio which is about a 5 hour drive from my house. Assuming I finish and my kids don't need to stop 10,000 times on the way home I might actually get to start watching this game on TiVO before it actually finishes.
Go Lions!

I bet I'll still miss out on the game because I'm in NFC East country and the Giants also play at 4:15. Thankfully I can still get it online.

I hope this means I can watch the game on TV out in Vikings country. The other two games in that time slot are Baltimore at Seattle (CBS) and the Giants at San Francisco (Fox). The Giants-49ers game seems like one that could challenge for the national spot.
Consequently, Chicago will be coming off another Monday night game (Chicago at Philadelphia).

I guess this means we might have to listen to Buck/Aikmen doing the game which I guess is better then having to listen to Millen do color on a Michigan or MSU game.

Now I won't be able to watch the game until the following weekend. I'll just have to get used to only being able to listen to them live on Sirius Radio.

I like the 1pm kickoffs too. This past Sunday I was rushing to do my fish tanks water change sat down and opened up the laptop to turn the stream on then saw it wasn't on till 4. Ruined my entire day lol.

FYI, check this link to see which game is broadcast in which markets. I use this every week since I don't live in MI. http://www.the506.com/nflmaps
