Is Chris Houston a probowl caliber DB?
Is Chris Houston one of the best CBs in the NFC?

Been a bit inconsistent the previous 2 weeks prior to Denver, but up to that... I think he's making a name for himself to make it this year.

Gets beat too often in coverage. Was Alphonso Smith a Pro Bowler last year with his INT's? Houston is opportunistic, that's for sure, but not Pro Bowl caliber.

best in the NFC? no. Good enough to be a pro bowl contender? definatly. it may be because of the line, but that dioesn't take away from the fact that he has been GREAT this year.

Houston is an above average player but he s not a pro bowler unless there are injuries. Eric Wright is all around better than Houston and even he probably isnt a probowler.

Quote: Alphonso did'nt defend the the other team's best WRs tho... actually he did quite a bit. a lot of times you have your no 2 cb on the top wideout with a safety helping out and have your best corner on the other teams no 2 wr to shut him down by himself. thats probably why houston is covering teams top wideouts a lot this year. eric wright is our best corner. houston is good and aaron berry has been impressive the last few weeks.

Not because I thought he was a premier level talent, but because I feel he is consistent, works well in Gunner's defense and was the best bang for the buck CB on the market. He doesn't have the skills of scrabble or Revis, but his pricetag makes him a much better value. He is playing now like he did in his first season in Atlanta.

Career #'s wise, Nope. But, Season #'s? Yep.

Re: Is Chris Houston a probowl caliber DB?
Okay, midway through the season, Houston has 4 INTs and two are for TDs. Dose anyone really think that if he has 8 INTs at the end of the season he won't make the probowl?

Re: Is Chris Houston a probowl caliber DB?
I voted "No", but he's close. In the NFC, Charles Woodson and Nnamdi Asomugha are locks based upon reputation. I also think Antoine Winfield belongs when healthy. After that, you've got guys like Samuel, Grimes, Tillman, and a few others that can make a case. Houston (and Wright) are right up there or very close to those guys though.
