 FLASH MOB to celebrate the Lions!!! 11/20 Downtown Detroit I'm organizing a Flash Mob to celebrate our Detroit Teams! Learn a simple 2 min 30 sec dance and join hundreds of fans on Sunday, November 20th at 11:30 am.

If it turns into a big thing and tv cameras catch it, it will definitely get attention. I think it's basically a novelty thing and people have fun doing it. Asking, because I have seen one and had no idea what the intent was...other than to block my path to the train

I think they are often just to for the people involved to have fun, and to see what other people's reaction to it are. In general, I think these things are recorded so the people involved can watch it back later. At least, I think so...
