GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Bears II
Join us in chat http://www.lionbacker.com/chat/REVENGE GAME FOR THE NO WINCOMPLETION.It was a catch! It has always been a catch. And it always will be a catch in every instance except this one time a moron applied the wrong rule for determining weather it was a catch or not. ( He used the rule for when a WR dives outward to catch a ball where he goes parallel to the ground. Which is not what CJ did. He jumped straight up. As soon as CJ landed on his feet, it was a TD/play over. ) Then he got hit by a defender and knocked to the ground. And the rest was history. The ref that was right on top of the play, ruled it a TD. It was some moron ref that was away from the play that over ruled the first ref. More fuel for the fire. It was in Chicago that: Jason Hanson missed a FG that would have won the game and sent us to the playoffs. This missed FG lead to Matt Millen being hired. Marty took the wind. You name almost any of our worst defeats, and there is a good chance it happened in Chicago.

That game was in Detroit, actually. Paul Edinger won the game with a last-second field goal. We beat the Bears in Chicago that year, they beat us in Detroit. But still--it would be excellent to beat them at home this year. A win today would be a great step toward playoff contention. GO LIONS!

It was in Chicago that Edinger successfully kicked the last minute FG to keep us from the playoffs and ushered in the Matt Millen era. I don't know why I remembered it as Hanson missing a FG. LOL.

Well we've seen so far that these refs are no better than the ones in that game. How the heck was that a facemask on Avril? His hand grazed it never held it or pulled it.

I thought the Avril face mask was the right call. It wasn't flagrant but a penalty nonetheless.

The Swiss cheese secondary is showing up again.
Why did nobody tell Malone to punt AWAY from Hester?
How the F did they overturn that? You've got to be kidding me. Every single call goes ChiTcagos way at soldier field.

It's described by the rule as "twisting, turning or pulling the mask" none of which Avril did. His hand ran across the front of the face mask.

This game is lost Lions looking really bad
What happened this team is well rested, yet they come out and turn the ball over 2 times, our special teams is terrible, believe me we will not come back from 20 down, this game shows where the Lions are weak at. We need to improve our offensive line period.

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Bears II
This game is over, different Bears team at home. Lions 2nd half could be bad.

It doesn't matter how hard the "twist" or "pull" is. If the mask moves while the hand is up, it will always draw a flag. Either way, officiating has nothing to do with the result of this game so far. It's 20-0 now and we're lucky it's not worse.

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Bears II
They look worse than they did against SF. Stafford looks horrible
2nd and 1 - incompletion 3rd and 1 - incompletion
Oh, did I mention they were at the F'ing 7 yard line? A whopping 3 points.
