Post Predictions: Vikings at Lions
After losses to two superior teams, the Lions get to face off against a weak Viking squad at home. They narrowly beat them in overtime at the Metrodome earlier this year, as well. The Vikes might also be without Peterson again, but I'm uncertain about his status. I'm looking for the Lions to bounce back in a big way.

Post Re: Predictions: Vikings at Lions
I am hoping that the Saints game has served this entire team with a cold dose of reality. They simply cannot continue to shoot themselves in the foot and think they can run a race without falling. The Vikings are going to be very chippy, and probably will do everything in their power to set off some of the Lions players to draw the penalties. How the Lions respond will speak volumes about just how well this has been addressed this week in meetings and in practice. In the end, I fully expect the Lions to win, but I am more interested in seeing just how they conduct themselves.

This is a young team. They have been exciting facing the past two Super Bowl champions in front of the entire country. I expect them to calm down an put away the Vikings this week. Schwartz has brought in veteran leadership in guys like KVB and Tulloch, who along with old Lions veterans, will hold the younger players accountable.

This is where the Lions get back on track and make a playoff push.

Lions 27
Vikings 17

Lions win, unless they get in their own way again.

Lions have been suspect on punt/kick coverage this year and the secondary is still depleted. Percy Harvin will have opportunities to exploit these weaknesses. If the Lions can't run offensively, they'll have to be pass happy, which makes Jared Allen a factor.

I think the Lions win a close one:

Vikings 20

Nick Fairley gets ejected after shanking Steve Hutchinson, Brian Robinson kicks CJ in the nuts right in front of the ref, but all he does is shake a finger at him

Lions win 45-10

I love Ponder (Go Noles!) but he's gonna get schwasted by our D line. AP (if healthy) will get some yards on us and if they can get Harvin the ball it may be close but it will be nothing like the last meeting.

31-17 Lions

If there's ever going to be a game played this season where they play in a controlled and mistake free as possible manner, it will be this one. The other intangible is that they have to have this game for a playoff berth.

This will more than likely be the most complete game played of the year.

31-13 LEOS

In an ironic twist, I think that the Lions are going to be ultra-focused this week due to the undisciplined debacle that occurred Sunday against the Saints. A team with this much talent, focused on their own execution as opposed to the refs or the baiting of their opponent is a very potent thing. I hope I'm right.

I also hope that, in true Lions fashion, we don't cream the Vikes then completely drop off vs. Oakland/SD. But of course just to be thinking of play offs right now is an unfamiliar and amusing sensation!
