 Sister Teams
We discussed earlier our biggest rival, but im kind of curious who you would say the LIons are on par with as far as growth and the direction we are going.
It was starting to look like T.B. would be a measuring stick but we quickly surpassed the work they are doing down there.
I'm just not sure who to measure us against... there are difinative similarities between us and Buffalo, i think we may have surpassed them as well, but tehy are pretty close to us. IMO it has to be either them or Texas...but then im stuck in the present. maybe a team from the past would be wiser to compare us to?
thoughts?

 Re: Sister Teams
The first team that comes to mind is Buffalo. And for some reason Cincy. Both have struggled over the years, and have shared similar pain.
Also (and no one kill me for this), I kinda see the Vikings in this light. Although we are division rivals, we aren't big time ememies like the Packers or Bears.

 Re: Sister Teams
I'd say the Falcons. Both teams finished 10-6 last year and were the wildcard reps of the NFC. Both finished second in their division (behind NFC favs Packers/Saints) and finished 3-2 in their last five games and got blown out in the 2nd half of their playoff game.
I think both will have strong passing games and subpar running games in 2012. Both finished 3-3 within their division. Both play within Domes and both are seeking to win their first Super Bowl.
Atlanta had the 7th ranked offense and 18th ranked defense, the Lions were 4 and 23 respectively.
The Falcons are about a year ahead of Detroit in terms of growth with their head coach and QB having an extra year over the Leo's.
All time the Lions are 506-599-32, 7-11 in the playoffs. The Falcons are 299-399-6 lifetime and 6-11 in the playoffs.

 Re: Sister Teams
Hystrix....I think that Minny is going in the oposite direction, but thats just my opinion. my 2 favorite words ive ever heard another team say durring a draft was "Christian Ponder" I simply dont think the kids has it, adn without AP i just dont see Minny being able to hold out jockstrap, much less comparing to us...but that mught be more Lion Homer talking that ture unbiased opinion.
Pablo GOOD CALL! I never even considered Altlanta. they are a pretty good measuring stick....

 Re: Sister Teams
I'd say Houston because of the QB-WR combo(needs to stay healthy). We just need to pull a great RB out of nowhere. The defenses are pretty on par too
Cincy is a good one
I'll say San Fran and ATL too since they will probably be our biggest out of conference rivals in the years to come

 Re: Sister Teams
For me I'd say Cincinnati.
Their offense is built around a young QB-WR combination.
Their defense has a shaky secondary, but a good line.
Their reputation is that they are law breakers, cheaters, etc.
They both have mascots from the big cat family.

 Re: Sister Teams
still leaning Bills. primary offense is a passing attack, a RB thats good, but spends more time in the ER than on the field, A D with a couple of stars but still underperforms...

 Re: Sister Teams
I chose Falcons, QB/WR position is similar to Detroit's.
