He's going to move people off the line which this team has lacked for quite awhile. He'll open holes but for a team that passes as much as we do, will he be able to pass protect? I like the pick though.

Should be a boost to the OL. Guess this means Reiff will be the LT. We'll still need another G (with Sims' contract expiring) and a C next season, unless we take Jones if he falls.

This pick, which I absolutely love, definitely means Reiff is our LT unless Armistead falls to our 4th round comp pick or we trade back into the 3rd to get Armistead.

I like our chances of getting a Center with our 4th round comp pick.

I said it in chat--we got a better guard in the 3rd than Chicago did in the 1st!!!

  8)

They could always trade into the early 4th to get a 2nd 4th rounder

I really like the pick and figured it had to be him or Armstead (might have preferred him a little more) with this pick. This is the first pick so far this season that looks like a plug and play guy and not as much of a boom or bust. The major concern though is whether he will eat himself out of the league like Gibson did back in the day.

theres a few C worth taking in the 4th, and dont forget about Nagy who could backup Sims if we dont resign him (we should). BUt if they want a C youve got Brian Schwenke, Khalid Holmes and Barret Jones all that copuld be there and be solid picks at 4-35.

I'd like to see them land Schwenke to be in the C competition. I also like a couple guys (Tretter and Quessenberry) later in the draft to add depth to the O-line.

Post Re: 3rd Round Pick @ #65 - Larry Warford G Kentucy
my only concern with warford is that the lions like to run screens and move the lineman around, ask them to block LBs, Ss at times but i dont see him being exceptional at that. still they desperately needed to strengthen up front and its a pick that should work out for them. maybe dallas thomas might ve been better but im happy with the pick. wrs and tes seem to be going fast now but some of those DEs are still available if the lions are interested in another one. i really liked jordan reed and keenan allen at te and wr positions but can make only so many picks...

LT: Reiff
LG: Sims
C: Raiola/Nagy
RG: Warford/Austin
RT: Fox/Hilliard

Thats the O-line for this coming season. Is it better than what we had last season? Im not really sure but at least its starting to shape up.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Is there any sort of a way we could get a large, powerful, stud Center in the 4th?
