He is still on the roster. Have the Lions decided to keep him? Have the Lions worked out an agreement with another team, that drafts ahead of us, to trade Tully and a later round pick to move up in either the 1st or 2nd round if the guy they want is there?

Isn't something about if you release a player in June you can apply the dead money to next year's cap?

Lots of rumors out there. Some say they're trying to work out a trade. Others say he's hurt so can't be cut without an injury settlement. Safe to say he won't be a Lion this year, only a matter of when.

Yeah but you can designate a player released earlier as a "June 1st" cut and still get the benefit of that rule. Plus it wouldn't apply to Tully because he's in the last year of his contract.

there s also a certain amount of money that can be rolled into the next years cap if the lions are under the cap this season. does anyone know how much this is?

as for tulloch's situation, the only thing that makes sense to me is an injury that could be precluding the lions from cutting him. i think it would be a really unlikely scenario someone takes him in a trade. i think the guy has some good football left in him but not at that price - he has to prove himself to be further along athletically after his ACL injury.

It has to be an injury issue. Quinn did say it was a contract issue. What else can it be other than an injury?

the contract issue could be that a team wants him at a pay cut but Tulloch is playing hardball holding up a trade while Quinn continues to try and work something out.

The Lions need to just cut him. Nobody is going to give up anything of value for an over-the-hill, two down MLB with a ridiculous contract. Cut him, save the cash, and find someone else.

Finally got released today. Story is that he had a knee scope and couldn't pass a physical until today so they kept him to avoid having to pay injury settlement
