We just traded Van Noy to the Patriots. Not sure what we got in return yet.

Ok. It is KVN and our 7th round pick for the Patriots 6th round pick.

So, pretty much a bag of practice balls.

Also, this trade makes room on the roster to sign Josh Bynes now. It sure would be a good week to get some of our walking wounded back. Like Levy and Ebron!

Did KVN suck that bad? Even with resigning Bynes we're still shorthanded at LB.

I don't think he was that bad. He just was not developing into the guy most of us thought he would be when we drafted him. Wether or not those were unrealistic expectations on our part. I am kind of surprised that the Patriots wanted him. So, now he will go on to become a regular pro bowler.

They couldn't in their right mind trade him, terrible or not, without levy or bostic being ready to come back

And yes, he was hot garbage.

he was awful, just a terrible terrible player. they cant even blitz him because he doesnt go hard and he misses 5-6 tackles a game right at him. they signed bynes, he should be starting in short order in place of van noy plus williams has been out there in 3 lb sets and killebrew is getting some of the nickel LB looks.

they didnt really get anything in this trade but dropping KVN for anything is worth it

bostic maybe getting closer but nothing from levy. i dont think anyone on the team knows what levy s doing and its not clear who s advice he s going off of - seems to not be the teams doctors.

Blimey, impressive move getting anything for KVN. He was an absolute disaster. Probably the most useless player I've seen in a regular season game in a Lions uniform.

Good that we've signed Bynes, but I would have taken anyone with 2 working legs over KVN.

Question for you guys: I remember that pick being widely acclaimed here and in mock draft grades at the time. But then I was randomly looking at grades from that year recently and one major news site (can't remember which) gave the pick a D grade. Were there naysayers at the time? Because I don't remember any.

I dont remember much nay saying, although i remember some thinking he was a 3rd round pick who needed some work. That said he came out of the same system that produced Ansah so we had some decent hype that they would continue to play well and develop together. If I had to pick between the 2 im glad Ansah was the Hit and KVN the miss.

I remember people on here being pissed because it was a poor pick - a reach

Anybody besides me think the Lions should be open to trading away a couple of over-drafted and under productive players
( Tomlinson & Ebron ) before the Nov. 1st deadline? I realize there are probably alot of Ebron fans that think I'm crazy. I get that. Yes, he's made some great catches, but probably more drive killing drops. Additionally, he seems to me to be soft and often injured and it's a given that he can't or won't block.

Ebron is the best TE we have. Right now the offense is why we are winning games, so I don't think you mess with that. As far a Tomlinson goes, it's a little too early to bail on him yet. It typically takes 3 years for a linemen to develope. He is still in that window.
