Post Bears @ Lions
Late 4th qtr and the Lions have had a good game against an what was supposed to be an inferior opponent. Would have like a bit more offense but the Bears D held up pretty well.

Stafford got hammered again today. What was it, 4 or 5 sacks? Eventually he's gonna get hurt from taking these poundings, then we are truly phucked.

It is hard to provide good protection when you have a patch work line.

More than anything else, I want to know where this defense has been. It stuffed the run, it got pressure and sacks, it got turn overs and it got off the field faster. Who took the gloves off and why did it take them so long into the season?

The LBs played better and Diggs has seemed to get even better as a safety. They also got to play a pretty bad offensive team. They will probably take a step back again for one or both of the last games. Even with a step back the rookies are getting playing time and showing positives for the future.

This was a Bears team without a playaction or misdirection game. They really only ran one or two plays that tested the edge defenders ability to stay home with a screen and a delayed outside pitch - both of those plays worked. The Lions D was playing overloaded vs the run and the Bears coaches just didnt do much to keep them honest - preferring to let Trubisky try airing it out against a pretty good Lions secondary.

Stafford got hit a lot, but don't forget the bears have one of the best front 7s in the league. They rank right there with Minny IMO. The primary reason the bears are terrible, is because they don't have a WR that would even be a #2 on any other team.

The lions won't face a rush like they did this week for the rest of the season...that's something to be optimistic about.
