Post Lions Playoff hopes 2017
And the Fudge Packers just lost. If Atlanta loses on Monday, then our matchup next week against Cincy will be a must see/ win game. Stafford is shouldering the team, offensive line patched up, defense needs to show up like they did against the Bears.

What are your thoughts? Sure, not the best season, but making the playoffs by winning out instead of backing in would be a nice notch for the Team.

It's all going to come down to GB.

Cincy is almost a guaranteed win after watching them today, and the announcement of Lewis moving on at the end of the season. They have nothing left to play for as a team, and I wouldn't be shocked to see 3-6 players put on IR this week from them.

Congrats to the Vikes for wrapping up the NFC North Title today with their 3rd string QB - pretty amazing accomplishment.

If the Lions win out, we beat the Seahawks and the Cowboys regardless of what they do.

So it's basically the Lions vs the Panthers and Falcons. We need one of them to lose both their remaining games.

what happens if the lions are in a 3 way tie with one of Falcons or Panthers and one of Seahawks or Cowboys?

The Falcons and Panthers hold tiebreakers so I don't think the Lions can catch the Panthers who have 10 wins already so hope they win out. The Falcons win one more game and they get in over Detroit but they do play the Saints and then the Panthers (who may have clinched by then). We really need the Falcons to lose out.

The Lions hold tiebreakers over both the Cowboys and Seahawks who the same record as the Lions but play each other next week so one of them pick up a loss. Seahawks end with the Cardinals while the Cowboys face the Eagles in their last game.

Watching this team fall apart against the lowly bengals is pathetic. Awful coaching, the worst tackling I’ve seen in years, no pass rush... Same poop, different day

Stafford looks bad after getting smacked and throwing the pick in the first half. Tion Green looks like a beast when they actually run quality plays for him and not running draws on 3rd and long.

That wasn't even close to a catch. I know that idiot on television kept going back to that play again and again and again managing to completely ignore what the 'expert' on such calls told him; in slow motion it looks he has it longer than is actually the case. The funniest part of it is that the people in the control actually slowed the shot down even more just before the ball comes completely free. Wagging the dog moment. If you challenge and lose the challenge, which he would, he doesn't have the challenge for later when he may need it.

Now, if you want to complain about the game plan and the preparation of the team to play a must win game then you have a solid case.

completely agree. that was not even close to a catch. the announcer s opinion was horribly incorrect.

That was third down. They literally had no shot after that. Why not? We’ve seen enough garbage overturned, against the lions, in the past. Why not?

I initially wanted him to challenge, but I couldn't remember Tate pleading with the refs after the play. If Tate isn't complaining then he must not even think he caught it, he isn't the type to stay quiet. I may have just missed him flipping out, but without seeing that I wouldn't challenge it either.

I thought there was more than four minutes left. Certainly enough time left to get a defensive stop and mount a scoring drive. I believe when you lose a challenge you also lose a time out and they were going to need the time out. Turns out they didn't. Then again, if they had to rely on the refs to give them such a play they weren't going to win anyhow.

Besides, that was just one play among many, many others that should have been made, but wasn't. The only difference is you had an idiot announcer unable to grasp the concept that slowing it down on tape doesn't make it change reality.

most of the overturned garbage is sad sack excuses to taking things that might be a catch and saying they arent catches, now we re asking that it goes the other way? i dont think thats a catch no matter how you look at it, even before all these new catch rules. id rather have the timeout than squander it hoping for divine intervention.

The problem I have with not challenging the play is on the replay it looked like he caught it and even the guys in the booth said it looked that way. I understand the chance the refs were going to over turn that play was slim at best. But the Lions were in a terrible position. Deep in their own end they needed like a 50+ yard punt with no return just to keep just to keep the Bengals out of Lions territory. I think the Bengals got the ball at the Lions 45. The Bengals only need to get one first down to be in field goal range and two for the game to over. In other words slim was all they had at that point.
