Replace Trash Tabor?
Offensive line is garbage.
Defensive line is garbage.

This is a completely different OL from game to game. Glasgow sucks, sorry.

LBers can’t shed blocks. Need 2 LBers.

Need a new SS.

Need a starting CB

Need a starting TE

Need a starting DE

Lang needs to retire or get cut. His back has eliminated his ability to play at a high level anymore. Wagoner sucks rectum and needs to be cut!!! Decker is not a good LT. He should be moved to RT where I thought he belonged when we drafted him.

We need to draft a LT in the first round. Or Stafford will be carried out in a body bag someday.
We will have to sign another FA to replace Lang Because we have use our 2nd round pick on a DL.

Time for Patricia to start calling plays on defense. I know it's probably his defense being executed by PP, but it ain't working. Oline has played well when everyone's healthy, but like last year, that's rarely the case.

Urgent needs:
-Cornerback
-High quality linebacker
-End who can set the edge and rush a la Gary/Winovich
-A RG to replace Lang

TE, history is destined to repeat itself. Go for it BQ, you know you want to ignore the passrush again.

Yup - this OLine is radically better than the Reiff, Tomlinson, Swanson, Warford, Waddle one that preceded it.

Oh, wait ...

With regards to that OL, Kenny Wiggins was kind of pulling a "Nevin Lawson" and providing some servicable play early on in the year. That stretch appears to be over and he s been really bad when forced into action the last couple of weeks. Need real depth but maybe more importantly a starter who doesnt have a new injury every 5 plays. Also, I think Cooter has a thing or two to learn about protection schemes bc the Lions still appear to be pretty confused by the double A gap blitz looks with the two LBers showing blitz on either side of the center and having to be accounted for in the blocking scheme whether or not they are actually blitzing. It doesnt excuse how badly Decker and especially Wagner were getting beat one on one, but when the line has to account for those two backers they cant double team and also it opens up an alley for another delayed blitzing defender to come unblocked. Part of the problem may also be the lack of a receiver who could go over the middle quickly and burn those LBers starting out to close to the line of scrimmage and not being able to get depth on there coverage position. Im not sure Bob Quinn thought of that when he was worried about overpaying by $750k for a TE he spent 4 years developing and let him walk for nothing or shipping out Tate midseason without a replacement. The Lions struggled with that double A look. Zach Zenner might actually be pretty useful for the Lions passprotecting. Two back shotgun looks might be part of the remedy.

It is pretty hard to overstate how bad Quinn really has been during his time. There has been a lot of talk about how well he is doing, but the results are just not there.

His philosophy has not been too far off base, but his choices have been mediocre to poor in a lot of respects.

Not drafting a RB last season was a major strategy gaffe. It was obvious before the season that AA was not the answer, but he did not see it. KJ looks like a nice pick, but he spent 2 picks for him after wasting the prior season and missing the playoffs.

Swapping Reiff for the current RT was not so illogical, given the money that RR was going to get with his LT resume. There is a lot of money on the right side of the OL now, and the vikes took it apart last week like they were street FA. We should call NO and see if they will trade us Warford for TJ Lang straight up. That was a silly move when it was made. It is not aging well either. Decker has shown flashes of being good, but is mostly an average player thus far. Glasgow is a nice pick for rd 3, but not a pro bowler. Ragnow looks good so far. He may be the best of the BQ picks here on the OL. In any case, lots of movement and draft capital. Finally ready to compete now...10 sacks last week.

BQ spent a rd 1 pick on a MLB. It looks like the Lions really need a good MLB yet today. I am not sure this guy can really do the job right. He makes some plays, and misses a bunch of others. Changing the defense doesn't help the young guys, so maybe this will get better. He's got the tools..

The coaching change has not worked. The team was better under Caldwell, by a good margin. JC had faults, but this reset will set the team back more than this season. I don't see yet a true indication that Matty P is a true difference maker at HC. If we hear a bunch of lip service next off-season about culture and getting the right kind of guys, we will know that this is a smoke and mirrors show that is intended to buy time for more losing and keep these guys employed as long as possible.

I will be very happy to be proven wrong on these thoughts. However, I just don't see it yet from this FO and new coaching staff.

When BQ took over, the Bears were a hot mess. It looks today like they are ready to pass the Lions on the way up as our guys sink to the bottom of the division. I am just not impressed by the job that BQ has done so far and very down on the results from his moves last year.

The Lions next year need a pass rusher, a CB, a OG, a WR, a good LB and probably a DL to replace Ziggy. With that, BQ may pick a TE.
