Killer WDFN Notes: Saints in L.A.?
Kowalski calls in to the Jamie and Brady Show on Sports Radio 1130 Detroit from Buffalo, the site of tonight's preseason finale. Here are the interview highlights.

Regarding the Saints -- because of the hurricane damage. They'll probably play in San Antonio or L.A. The NFL wants them in L.A. The league would be wise to let them do what they want because the players' families are involved in the tragedy as well.

Expectations for the Saints -- Things will normalize soon. Fears will be calmed, and they'll do their job. But, Killer says he wouldn't bet on them.

Opponents, such as the Lions on Christmas Day, may offer to host Saints' home game, but they likely won't accept it.

Killer would be surprised if any of the Lions' big starters play tonight.

"This game is beyond meaningless."

Teams will play starters, as they did last night, to keep them into the flow of the game, but they'll limit their exposure.

Caller from MLive forum Derek -- Shouldn't the Lions be running more on first and second down? It'd take away the blitz and the rush: Killer says there are run blitzes. The offensive players admit that if they were the Packers they should blitz on every down becauase they can't stop it.

You should see a lot of Mike Williams tonight since he hasn't played much. Killer says he's had a hard time picking up the playbook, and the QBs may not trust him at this point. He needs a lot of work.

Damien Woody put notes saying 16-48 in the lockers of all players. Killer says Marcus Pollard and Woody were spurred on by Jeff Garcia's comment after the game. The acquisitions now know they must step up.

Because of the emerging leadership, Kowalski says that Monday night game may actually turn out to be good for the Lions. The younger guys, like Dominic Raiola, are taking to the leadership
